This role directly supervises QA Auditors and serves as the primary quality escalation point during the shift.\nThe position ensures compliance with engineering specifications, manufacturing standards, customer requirements, inspection plans, and Quality Management System (QMS) requirements. Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Production, and Test teams, the QA Supervisor drives defect prevention, containment, process discipline, and continuous improvement in an Engineer-to-Order (ETO) manufacturing environment.\nThe QA Supervisor supports the organization's quality strategy by improving First Pass Yield, reducing defects, preventing escapes, strengthening process compliance, and promoting a culture of quality ownership across the factory.\nEssential Functions\nQuality Leadership & Shift Management\nServe as the primary Quality Leader for the assigned shift and plant.\nDirectly supervise QA Auditors and coordinate inspection activities throughout production operations.\nAssign inspection resources based on production priorities, customer requirements, and risk.\nProvide quality leadership support during shift start-up, daily tier meetings, and escalation reviews.\nEnsure adequate quality coverage across all manufacturing processes.\nProduct & Process Conformance\nEnsure all products conform to drawings, work instructions, specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards.\nVerify execution of in-process inspections, final inspections, and quality verification checkpoints.\nMonitor inspection effectiveness and consistency among inspectors.\nEnforce standardized inspection criteria and acceptance standards.\nNonconformance Management\nLead containment activities for quality-related production issues occurring during the shift.\nReview and coordinate disposition of nonconforming materials, components, and assemblies.\nEnsure timely segregation, identification, and documentation of nonconforming product.\nEscalate significant quality concerns to Quality Control Management and Quality Engineering.\nProcess Compliance & Audit Readiness\nMonitor compliance with quality procedures, inspection plans, control plans, and work instructions.\nConduct layered verification activities to confirm adherence to established processes.\nPromote traceability, documentation accuracy, and QMS compliance.\nCompetencies\nUnderstanding of quality management systems and manufacturing quality principles.\nTransformer manufacturing processes and/or electrical equipment assembly is a plus.\nAbility to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.\nPreferred Certifications\nASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)\nASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)\nLean Six Sigma Green Belt\nISO 9001 Internal Auditor Certification\nSupervisory Responsibility\nThis position has responsibility to manage 6-9 QA auditors.\nEnvironment/Physical Requirements\nThe ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.\nProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.\nMust be able to access and navigate each department in the Office and Factory Floor.\nAbility to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.\nPosition Type and Expected Hours of Work\nThis is a full-time position with working hours from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday. However, depending on workload there may be occasional longer days and occasional weekends as needed.
