For more information, please visit www.andersonsinc.com.Position SummaryThe Industrial Hygiene Director is responsible for protecting the health and safety of employees by implementing, leading, and managing industrial hygiene (IH) program across the entire company.Key ResponsibilitiesLead all aspects of the Enterprise industrial hygiene (IH) program, ensuring compliance with regulations and standardsDevelop appropriate risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures to protect workers' health and safetyDevelop, lead and maintain Chemical Exposure Management and Industrial Hygiene ProgramsLead and participate in the development and implementation of IH programs and processes, including respiratory protection, personal protective equipment, hazard communication, hearing conservation, crystalline silica, combustible dust, SDS program, etc.Serve as a key subject matter expert in IH program and strategy developmentDevelop and manage the industrial hygiene sampling protocol across the entire enterpriseSupport process to author SDS's across the EnterpriseParticipate in New Chemical Evaluation Review (NCER)Coordinate with site leadership and the EHS team to communicate survey results and development of action plans to address deficiencies identified in reportsManage consultant(s) conducting sampling and coordinating their visits with site leadership and appropriate EHS personnelDevelop a EHS strategy for EHS talent development for the enterprise and implement in coordination with business unit EHS DirectorsWhat Is Expected Of You And Others At This LevelProvides leadership and direction through Senior Managers and ManagersIs typically accountable for the performance and results of: a large strategically important discipline in an extremely large market; or related disciplines or a medium-sized function in a large market or medium-sized market; or a medium-sized discipline or department in a major regionAdapts and executes functional or departmental business plans and contributes to the development of functional or departmental strategiesDecisions are guided by functional strategies and prioritiesEducation & ExperienceBachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred7-10 years' relevant experience requiredMust be a Certified Industrial Hygienist (or approved equivalent certification) with thorough knowledge of appropriate regulationsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar softwarePhysical Requirements And Working EnvironmentOpen to travel up to 50%Willing to periodically work extended hours when needed/requiredAbility to work in physically demanding environments, including climbing ladders & stairs, hot/cold climates, and working at heightsLocated at the Central Office Building in Maumee, OH
