Under minimal supervision, perform EH&S duties for program design, development and implementation. Be recognized as a technical EH&S specialist. Independently take actions with impact in area of responsibility and programs.\n\nFunctions:\n1.Regulations\n\nEnsure compliance with EH&S federal, state and local regulations.\nEvaluate existing and new regulations impact upon operations.\nDevelops new programs and implement changes as necessary.\n2. Agencies\n\nInterface with EH&S regulatory agencies.\nBe recognized as a program liaison to external agencies.\nPrepare for and conduct inspections with agency representatives present.\nPrepare reports, responses to inquiries and conduct monitoring.\nSupport Operations\nDesign, develop and implement EH&S programs.\nMaintain & continuously improve EH&S programs to support operations for day-to-day operations.\nAssess EH&S practices to manage long term liability for planning, acquisitions, etc.\nTraining & Procedures\nDesign, develop and implement training programs for Amgen staff.\nImplement & document procedures/policies for operations.\n3.Projects\n\nDetermine impact of new operations/processes/capital projects upon the EH&S programs.\nDeveloping program changes necessary to support business objectives.\nAnalyze existing and future processes to identify cost-effective solutions to reduce EH&S impacts Internal Auditing\nDesign and implement programs for conducting periodic audits/inspections of operations.\nEnsures corrective actions are implemented as necessary.\n4. Supervision\n\nMay be responsible for supervising technical support staff.\n\nEducation/Licenses:\nMaster's degree or bachelor's degree & 2 years of directly related experience\nAssociate's degree & 6 years of directly related experience or\nHigh school diploma / GED & 8 years of directly related experience\n\nCOMPETENCIES/SKILLS:\nMust be proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software systems. Must have good technical & business writing skills and good communication and team skills.
