About the job Sheboygan, WI Experienced Diesel Auto Technician with ASE certificate Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Technician to join a growing service and maintenance team supporting heavy-duty commercial vehicles. This role is ideal for professionals with strong diagnostic capabilities, hands-on mechanical expertise, and a commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency. The successful candidate will independently perform inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on diesel-powered trucks and equipment while maintaining high service standards and productivity. Schedule:Monday-FridayDay ShiftNo weekends or overnight shifts Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines and heavy-duty commercial vehiclesPerform major and minor mechanical repairs according to manufacturer and industry standardsInspect vehicles and identify required maintenance or safety-related repairsRepair and maintain:Diesel enginesElectrical systemsAir and hydraulic brake systemsSteering and suspension systemsDriveline and drivetrain componentsTransmissions and differentialsRemove, install, and replace major components including injectors, clutches, bearings, cylinder heads, camshafts, batteries, and transmissionsUtilize computerized diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting and repair verificationComplete repair orders and maintenance documentation accuratelyConduct road tests when necessary to verify repairsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentFollow all workplace safety procedures and compliance standardsSupport continuous improvement initiatives and technical training programsMentor junior technicians when needed QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredTechnical or vocational training in diesel or automotive technology preferredMinimum 5 years of experience working on diesel engines and heavy-duty trucksStrong experience with diagnostics and electrical troubleshootingHands-on experience with:Engine repairTransmission systemsDriveline componentsSteering systemsBrake systemsAbility to read and interpret technical manuals and repair documentationProficient with diagnostic software and repair toolsASE Certification and 608/609 Certifications preferredMust possess personal tools required to perform assigned dutiesValid driver's license with clean driving record requiredAbility to obtain a CDL preferredStable and reliable work history Required SkillsDiesel TechnicianDiesel MechanicDiesel Engine RepairHeavy-Duty Truck MaintenanceDiagnostics & TroubleshootingElectrical SystemsEngine RepairDrivetrain & Driveline RepairTransmission RepairSteering & Suspension SystemsBrake SystemsASE Certification608/609 Certification What We OfferStable weekday scheduleLong-term career growth opportunitiesOngoing technical training and developmentProfessional and safety-focused work environmentOpportunity to work with advanced diesel systems and equipment
