Machine Vision and industrial communications will serve as an additional focus. This role is also expected to be forward-thinking in applying AI tools to development and testing work.\n\nBeyond the 70% software function, the role supports any engineering function needed to complete project work - mechanical design, electrical design, wiring, assembly, and system installation. Successful candidates are self-sufficient, take ownership of projects independently, and are flexible with a changing work schedule.\n\nWhen working on developing and testing projects, the role is 95% on-site in Lititz, PA with 5% of the time available for remote work. Travel up to 20%, to support installations with occasional service travel required.\n\n*What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)*\n\n* Develop and test software from concept through Factory Acceptance Test for at least 6 projects independently, including 1–2 of greater complexity.\n* Support the successful installation of at least 3 systems independently.\n* Complete one advanced training on a core technology (UR, FANUC, etc.) to build product ownership.\n\n*Key Responsibilities*\n\n*Software Development & Testing - 70%*\n\n* Program and test PLC, HMI, and robot logic; build out I/O lists through FAT for new and existing projects.\n* Apply AI tools to improve the speed and quality of software development, testing, and documentation.\n\n*On-Site Installation Support - 20%*\n\n* Lead and support on-site installation and commissioning during system startup.\n\n*Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / System Assembly Support - 10%*\n\n* Support electrical panel design and wiring with a working knowledge of machine safety requirements.\n* Support mechanical design and assembly tasks as needed across active projects.\n* Assist the build team with system assembly, fixturing, and prototype fabrication (hand tools, 3D printing).\n\n*Qualifications*\n\n*Experience & Education*\n\n* Degree in Automation Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.\n* 1–3 years of experience programming PLCs (Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi).\n* 1–3 years of experience programming robots (UR, FANUC).\n* 1-3 years of experience programming HMI’s.\n* 1–3 years of experience programming vision systems (Cognex, Keyence).\n\n*Technical Skills*\n\n* Forward-thinking about applying AI tools to everyday development work.\n* Working knowledge of machine safety systems and electrical panel design.\n* Comfortable working with your hands — hand tools, 3D printers, and prototyping.\n* Self-sufficient, reliable, and a strong team player.\n* SolidWorks experience.\n\n*Why Precision Cobotics?*\n\nAt Precision Cobotics, you'll work directly with customers, help shape a growing automation company, and be trusted with significant responsibility from day one.\n\nOur mission is to be Your Partner in Accessible Automation™ by embracing innovation, empowering people, and building the workforce of tomorrow through Collaboration in Motion™.
