The Human Resources Generalist will oversee and support core HR functions across recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, performance management, and HR operations.\r\nRole Summary This role will serve as a key partner to leadership and employees, helping to build scalable HR processes, strengthen company culture, maintain compliance, and support talent growth across the organization. The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly organized, operationally strong, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced fintech startup environment.\r\nCore Responsibilities Recruitment & Onboarding Own the end-to-end recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer management, and onboarding across all departments.\r\nDevelop and maintain job descriptions, postings, recruiting workflows, and candidate pipelines.\r\nPartner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and improve recruiting efficiency.\r\nCoordinate onboarding processes to ensure new hires are successfully integrated into the organization.\r\nMaintain recruiting metrics, hiring reports, and candidate tracking systems.\r\nEmployee Relations & Engagement Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers regarding workplace issues, policies, and HR practices.\r\nFoster a positive, collaborative, and accountable workplace culture aligned with IoniaPay's mission and values.\r\nOrganize employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, team-building activities, and employee feedback surveys.\r\nAssist leadership with performance conversations, coaching guidance, and corrective action documentation when needed.\r\nCompliance & Policy Management Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including Arizona labor laws, wage and hour requirements, ADA, EEOC, FMLA, and related employment standards.\r\nDraft, maintain, and enforce employee handbooks, HR policies, procedures, and internal documentation.\r\nSupport HR-related documentation and evidence collection for SOC 2, PCI DSS, and other internal or external audits.\r\nMaintain accurate, confidential employee records and personnel documentation.\r\nCompensation, Benefits & Payroll Administration Administer employee benefits programs and support annual enrollment activities.\r\nCoordinate payroll administration activities and maintain accurate employee compensation records.\r\nPartner with CFO on compensation benchmarking, merit increases, bonus administration, and equity-related tracking.\r\nRespond to employee questions related to payroll, benefits, policies, and HR programs.\r\nPerformance Management & Employee Development Implement and maintain performance management processes, including reviews, check-ins, and goal tracking.\r\nAssist managers in setting clear performance expectations and documenting employee development plans.\r\nCoordinate training programs, professional development initiatives, and onboarding education.\r\nSupport leadership development and employee retention initiatives as the organization scales.\r\nHR Operations & Systems Select, implement, and manage HRIS and applicant tracking systems as the company grows.\r\nMaintain employee records, reporting, organizational charts, and headcount analytics.\r\nCreate scalable HR processes, SOPs, templates, and internal workflows to support rapid organizational growth.\r\nGenerate HR reporting and metrics for executive leadership, including hiring trends, turnover, engagement, and workforce planning data.\r\nCross-Functional Partnership Partner closely with leadership, Finance, Compliance, Operations, and department managers to support organizational initiatives.\r\nAssist with organizational planning, workforce structure, and employee communications.\r\nSupport internal initiatives related to culture, compliance, onboarding, and operational scaling.\r\nRequired Qualifications 3+ years of Human Resources experience in an HR Generalist, People Operations, or HR Management role.\r\nStrong understanding of HR policies, compliance requirements, and employment law.\r\nHands-on experience with recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, payroll coordination, and benefits administration.\r\nExperience supporting HR functions in a startup, high-growth, fintech, SaaS, or technology environment preferred.\r\nStrong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.\r\nAbility to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.\r\nExperience developing HR processes, documentation, and operational workflows.\r\nProficiency with HRIS platforms, applicant tracking systems, payroll systems, and productivity software.\r\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.\r\nBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.\r\nPreferred Qualifications SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or similar HR certification.\r\nExperience supporting SOC 2, PCI DSS, or regulated compliance environments.\r\nExperience implementing HR systems or scaling HR infrastructure during company growth.\r\nExperience supporting employee engagement, leadership development, or performance management initiatives.\r\nFamiliarity with compensation benchmarking and equity administration processes.\r\nLocation & Work Style Ideally based in Arizona.
