DescriptionSummary of PositionThe Student Director must possess mature Christian character and a strong desire to reach and disciple teenagers. They must have a proven track record of engaging teenagers and their families in meaningful relationships. The Students Director must be extraordinarily disciplined in the recruitment, development, and care of volunteers. The Student Director will also work in tandem with a centralized student ministry support team, collaborating with the central team in creating effective student ministry at the campus and at times, the all-church level.Qualifications And RequirementsPreferred experience in student ministry in a multi-site settingHistory of teaching both middle and high school audiences effectivelyComfortable in shepherding, supervising, and communicating with students, parents, and volunteersPassion for student ministry and a teachable spirit and willingness to learnBasic computer skillsA member of The Summit Church or willing and able to become a memberQualificationsResponsibilitiesKnowing, loving, and shepherding/ministering to students and parents/guardians at their campusRecruiting, mobilizing, equipping, and developing leaders Engaging in the community to open doors for evangelism and outreachContextualizing and executing Student Ministry programs and events at the campus (small groups, large groups, etc.)Staying up to date and maintaining all Student Ministry programs, systems, policies, and proceduresOverseeing/leading the Student Staff Team at the Capital Hills Campus to ensure that all of the above is being accomplishedAssistance in the contextualization and execution of Student Ministry events at the all-church level (camps, retreats, etc.) when availableProviding ongoing feedback and evaluation of central resourcing when availableMiscellaneous tasks as assigned by Campus Executive Pastor or Central NextGen TeamChurchwide EventsThe hours for this position are expected to be 40 hours per week. As one church that meets in many locations, there are several times throughout the year that Summit holds church-wide events in an effort to do whatever it takes to reach all people. All staff members are expected to serve at these church-wide events regardless of the positions they hold.Such events include, but are not limited to: Easter services, church-wide prayer meetings, Good Friday service, and Christmas services. Serving expectations will be communicated in advance of each event.
