Job Description This Physical Therapist (Acute Inpatient Rehab) role is based in Fort Pierce, FL at a 380-bed acute-care hospital that serves as a Level II Trauma Center, a Certified Primary Stroke Center, and home to the region's only Level III Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units. The Physical Rehabilitation Center holds CARF accreditation, and the hospital provides a broad clinical scope including cardiac surgery, orthopedics, oncology, and both adult and pediatric emergency services. The role. Working in coordination with physicians and the broader patient care team, the Physical Therapist manages the complete therapeutic care process for an assigned caseload of acute inpatient rehab patients — from initial evaluation through discharge planning. Core clinical responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and delivering or directing the majority of each patient's physical therapy across the continuum of care. The PT also educates patients, families, and caregivers on home exercise programs, therapeutic appliances, and prosthetic or assistive devices to support recovery outside of therapy sessions. In addition to direct care, this position carries operational responsibility for prioritizing caseload, determining daily staffing needs, and coordinating patient assignments and handoffs within the team. Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Physical Therapy Active Florida Physical Therapy license Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapy experience Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification — must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date Schedule. Full-time, day shift with rotating weekends. Compensation. $36.53 - $45.63/hr plus SOB on a case by case basis
