{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"5ba60a7e7e517ee96d92a476","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/5ba60a7e7e517ee96d92a476","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/5ba60a7e7e517ee96d92a476","title":"Engineering Intern – Mechanical/Electrical/Civil/Struct/Mining","description":"Job Title: Engineering Intern – Mechanical/Electrical/Civil/Struct/Mining\n\nDepartment: Engineering\n\nReports to: Discipline Lead\n\nGENERAL PURPOSE OF THIS JOB (Summary)\n\nAssists the associated engineering department or project site in general duties.\n\nPotential design involvement includes support on the following mechanical systems: pumping, piping, basic mechanical actuation, hydraulics, pneumatics, hoisting, and HVAC.\n\nPotential design involvement includes support on the following electrical systems: MV Power Distribution, LV Power Distribution, PLCI/O controls, motor controls, fiber optic communications, leaky feeder communications, hoisting, and Process and instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).\n\nPotential involvement includes the following mining engineering duties: planning and supervise mine activities, support reports, estimating, bids, and feasibility studies.\n\nPotential involvement includes the following civil/structural engineering duties: concrete foundation, steel framing, work deck, headframe, shaft steel, conveyor supports, trusses, shaft conveyances, and feasibility studies.\n\nAll work is in support of mining and mineral processing projects.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIESRESPONSIBILITIES\n\nFunctional Responsibilities (as applicable)\n\nWork with the associated engineering department in support of project needs\nUnder the supervision of the department lead, model electrical/mechanical/civil/structural/mining and control/piping systems using Autodesk Products\nReview drawings, specifications, and lists for accuracy.\nResearch components and assist in the development of engineering standards.\nHelp the engineering group in any capacity as needed.\n\nMining Engineer Responsibilities (as applicable)\n\nComplete detailed engineering for mining projects, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies and providing mining input on proposals/bids.\nDesign engineering related to mine planning.\nReport writing and analysis.\nEngineering project management including weekly reporting, design change notice management and capital estimate management.\nAssisting the contracting and Business Development groups with tendering work and estimation.\nSite assistance as required.\n\nHealthSafety\n\nWork in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Cementation\n\nIncorporate Health and Safety considerations in all functions and daily activities of the position.\nMonitor work environment for health and safety hazards or infractions and reports the same to Health and Safety Department\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\n\nEducation and Experience\n\nMechanical Engineering Intern - Currently enrolled in an ABET accredited program in Mechanical Engineering.\nElectrical Engineering Intern - Currently enrolled in an authorized Autodesk Training Center (ATC) accredited program.\nMining Engineering Intern – Currently enrolled in Mining or Mining Construction\nCivil/Structural Engineering Intern – Currently enrolled in an ABET accredited program in Civil Engineering.\nMinimum Sophomore year, Junior or Senior preferred\nMining construction experience is preferred.
