Pediatric Support Specialist

First Class Helpers is seeking compassionate and dependable Pediatric Support Specialists to provide in-home care services for children and young adults with autism and other special needs (ages 2–22). The Pediatric Support Specialist plays a vital role in supporting children’s daily living skills, personal growth, and overall well-being, while also providing respite and relief for families. This position is hands-on and requires a caring professional who is patient, reliable, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special needs. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct in-home support to children and young adults with autism, developmental disabilities, or special needs. Assist with daily living skills such as dressing, grooming, hygiene, meal preparation, and organization. Support children in building independence through skill-building activities (communication, problem-solving, safety awareness, etc.). Implement and reinforce behavioral strategies and care plans as outlined by therapists, parents, and the care team. Provide respite care for families, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. Assist with transportation to community activities, appointments, or school, when needed. Document daily activities, progress, and any incidents in accordance with agency policy. Collaborate with families, therapists, and other team members to ensure high-quality, consistent care. Qualifications Must be 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in child development, social work, special education, or health care preferred. Previous experience working with children with autism, developmental disabilities, or special needs strongly preferred. Must be patient, compassionate, and adaptable to the needs of each child and family. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently in a home environment. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance (if providing transport). Ability to pass a background check and meet state requirements for in-home caregivers.
