Registered Nurse (RN) | Med/Surg / Telemetry Location: Shelby, NC Agency: TalentBurst, Inc. Pay: $1,786 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Start Date: ASAP About the Position JOB DESCRIPTION RN - MedSurg/Tele JOB DESCRIPTION RN - MedSurg/Tele ● About Facility: o 241 licensed beds o Level 3 Trauma o Teaching Hospital? No o Certified Chest Pain Center o Stroke Center ● Unit Information: o Beds: 32 ▪ Average Census: 28 o Minimum Years of Experience required? 18 months Med/Tele RN exp o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes ● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: o Total Joint Replacements, Colon resection, gallbladder, appendectomy, amputations, medical overflow, hip fractures, SBO, NG tubes ● Patient Ratios: o RN: Days 1:4-6; Nights 1:5-6 o LPN (if applicable): Days 1:4-6; Nights 1:5-6 o CNA: 1:10-11, or 1: 16 (depends on staffing) ● Required Licensure & Certifications: o RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS ● Skills required: o Basic Med/Tele skillset: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with non-titrating Cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone), wound care, drain/tube management, PIV starts, Central line management, etc. ● Support within the Department: o CNA - Vital signs, baths, mobility, turning, blood sugars o Receptionist/HUC: Rounds and secretary duties o Charge nurse – Resource to assist with all nursing care o Phlebotomy? Yes, other than nurse draws o IV/VAT Team o RT, 24/7 o Hospitalist, 24/7 o Intensivist, 24/7 o Telemetry monitoring/tech? Yes ● Technology/Equipment: o EMR: EPIC o IV Pump: Alaris o Med dispensing: Omnicell o Monitors: Phillips ● Floating: o Within region and scope of practice o Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable ▪ Region 3 - Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH) ▪ If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock) ● Orientation (facility and unit): o NEO o 2 days departmental ● Scheduling: o Weekend rotation: every other o No call o Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays yes o RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours o Shift times: 0645-1900, 1845-0700 o Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks ● Other notes: o Scrub Color: Navy o Parking: Free TB_RN ZRHC Why TalentBurst?
