Assists in the development and wiring of engineering models and in the development of assembly methods and wire lists . Uses hand or power tools to trim, shim, cut, and make other adjustments to fit components together and align them properly. May assist in instructing and training lower-level assemblers . Reads and interprets wiring lists and assembly drawings to work orders using work instructions . May perform any rework from test failures in accordance with standard repair procedures and may set up and operate automated assembly equipment. At the most senior level may serve as a team leader providing training to new staff and evaluating the performance and finished work of assigned staff.\r\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities include , but are not limited to :\r\nDetermine Detail/Hardware locations per blueprints and mylars\r\nSet-up and operate Drill Press, Pneumatic drills, \\\"C\\\" squeezes, Hand Squeezes, Rivet Pullers.\r\nSet up countersinks per fastener requirements and shop router\r\nMonitor and work with very tight tolerances\r\nDrill holes in structure and subassemblies, and attaches brackets, hinges, or clips to secure installation or to fasten subassemblies per blueprint and customer specifications.\r\nInstall units, parts, equipment, and components in structural assembly, according to blueprints and specifications, using hand tools and power tools.\r\nBolt, screw, or rivet accessories to fasten, support, or hang components and subassemblies.\r\nLocate and mark reference points and holes for installation of parts and components, using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments.\r\nInspects and tests installed units, parts, and equipment for fit, performance, and compliance with standards, using measuring instruments and test equipment.\r\nPosition and align subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, using measuring instruments, following blueprint lines and index points.\r\nComplete all required training and any additional training required by supervisor.\r\nComplete quality documentation\r\nPerform preventative maintenance on assembly presses and tooling\r\nVerify part and hardware count to shop router\r\nOther duties as assigned\r\nQualifications:\r\nExperience and Education:\r\n1-2 years of relevant experience\r\nHigh school degree or equivalent\r\nTechnical Skills:\r\nExcellent attention to detail\r\nStrong hand-eye coordination\r\nAbility to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint reading, specification, change, design).\r\nWorking knowledge of aircraft manufacturing, instructions and blueprints\r\nWorking knowledge of customer specifications and requirements\r\nAbility to use calipers, micrometers, etc.\r\nMastery of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions)\r\nStrong teamwork and communication skills to get along with co-workers and be a team player\r\nUnderstand and obey safety requirements\r\nCommitment to keep work area clean and free of debris\r\nPhysical Requirements:\r\nMust be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs\r\nSpecific vision abilities include close and distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus\r\nAbility to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, as well as reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time\r\nCapable of standing for long periods\r\nSupervisory Responsibilities : None.\r\nTravel Required : N/A\r\nNote : This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) of this position .
