The successful individual will process executive appointments subject to Senate confirmation, among other administrative tasks and assignments.\n\nExamples of Work Performed\n\nInputs and updates data to the database used by the Senate to process executive appointments.\nPrepares correspondence used to request background information from various agencies regarding executive appointments.\nMonitors and keeps up-to-date status information on all correspondence.\nPrepares appointee files for review.\nConducts detailed research into assigned subjects pertaining to executive appointments.\nIdentifies problems, researches solutions, and communicates with other staff to determine the best course of action on policy options regarding executive appointments.\nAssists in the proofreading of documents included in appointee files.\nAssists in preparing reports on committee actions.\nTracks legislation affecting boards and appointees.\nMaintains financial or other administrative records, monitors budgetary activities, and prepares status reports.\nReconciles year-end records and prepares annual reports.\nAssists in formulating, interpreting, applying, and assuring conformance with administrative policies and procedures.\nPerforms other related duties as required.\n\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\n\nKnowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of the executive appointments process.\nKnowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.\nAbility to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments.\nAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.\nAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.\nAbility to understand and apply related rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.\nAbility to work independently.\nAbility to solve problems and make decisions.\nAbility to use tact and exercise good judgment when interacting with Legislators and staff, other agencies, and the public.\nAbility to meet deadlines.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data/information.\n\nMinimum Qualifications\n\nA bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in accounting, business or public administration, or a related field and three years of professional experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting, human resource, staff development or training, purchasing, research, analysis, program planning and evaluation, or administrative work; or A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, possession of a Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.)
