With offices across the Southeast and Midwest, we combine the resources of a growing firm with a collaborative culture, technical excellence, and a commitment to developing our people.\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nWe are looking for an experienced Structural Engineer/Project Manager to join our Florida team and play a key role in its continued growth. While this position is currently remote and based in the Jacksonville market, the successful candidate will report to and collaborate closely with our Florida team. You'll lead complex and diverse structural projects, mentor engineers, strengthen client relationships, and help expand Bennett & Pless' presence throughout Florida.\n\nTypical projects would range widely; from general commercial and mixed-use facilities, industrial/manufacturing facilities, schools and higher education facilities, medical facilities, data centers and mission critical facilities. Projects will include new structures, analysis/repair of existing damaged structures, and adaptive re-use of facilities for renovation and new functionality.\n\nThis role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading projects while remaining actively involved in structural design. At Bennett & Pless, Project Managers continue to do the engineering work they enjoy while building client relationships, mentoring engineers, and leading projects from concept through completion.\n\nResponsibilities :\n\nLead the design and analysis of structural systems for projects across multiple market sectors.\n\nManage structural engineering projects and lead project teams, ensuring successful deliver through compliance, client requirements, QA/QC standards, budgets, and schedules.\n\nCoordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and project partners through all phases of design and construction.\n\nPrepare and review engineering analyses, design calculations, and construction documents, ensuring compliance with standards and best practices.\n\nOversee drafting and review of BIM and AutoCAD plans to represent designs accurately.\n\nDevelop cost-effective and innovative design solutions while participating in proposal and RFI preparation.\n\nMentor and oversee junior engineers and designers by providing technical guidance, coaching, and quality reviews.\n\nPerform facility analyses, site reviews, and moderate design tasks for a variety of structural systems and materials.\n\nUtilize industry-standard software such as Revit, RISA, and ETABS for design and documentation.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related field.\n\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license.\n\n8+ years of structural engineering experience.\n\nExperience managing structural engineering projects, leading project teams, and successfully balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective client and team relationships.\n\nProficiency with Revit and structural analysis/modeling software used in the design of building structures.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nMaster's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.\n\nExperience with masonry, wind design, wood design, and/or other specialized structural systems.\n\nWe believe growth and culture go hand in hand.\n\nAs Bennett & Pless continues to grow, experienced engineers have opportunities to expand their influence, build lasting client relationships, and help shape the future of the organization.
