Our mission is to build a domestic, sustainable supply chain spanning raw material refinement through cell-ready components.\n\n*About this role*\n\nWe are seeking a Materials Scientist to support the design and development of systems deployed for electrochemical processing of battery electrodes. The successful candidate will be involved in design and prototyping of experimental systems and test benches, material behavior evaluation in complex process environments, and evaluation of material post-processing techniques. This role expects uncompromising adherence and compliance to established standards of professionalism, integrity, scientific rigor, and industrial safety.\n\n*Responsibilities*\n\n* Assisting the team in evaluation or validation of processes and prototype systems for conducting lab experiments.\n* Performing experiments to evaluate material properties including deformation behavior and microstructural effects in substrates exposed to diverse process conditions (high temperatures and reactive/corrosive process environments).\n* Performing material characterization using an array of techniques including mechanical testing, electron microscopy, spectrometry, and X-ray diffraction (XRD).\n* Rigorous documentation including compilation, analysis, and interpretation of all experimental data and associated procedures.\n* Maintaining compliance with relevant environmental health and safety (EHS) standards in the scope of conducting all developmental tasks.\n\n*Required Qualifications*\n\n* MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline, with demonstrated track record of experimental research.
