Commercial Auto Underwriter
We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Auto Underwriter to lead our efforts in managing and shaping our commercial auto insurance book. In this critical role, you’ll influence profitability, ensure rate adequacy, and build strong relationships with agents and internal teams. Your expertise will support company growth and industry excellence while guiding less experienced underwriters and fostering collaboration across departments.Required Skills:4–6 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting or a related role within insuranceDeep knowledge of the Commercial Auto (CAR) manual, rules, and regulationsStrong analytical skills and business judgment for risk assessmentExcellent written and verbal communication abilitiesProven negotiation, relationship management, and customer service skillsEffective time management and organizational capabilitiesNice to Have Skills:Industry designations such as AU; progress toward CPCU or CIC preferredExperience working with agency management and supporting business developmentFamiliarity with industry trends, market conditions, and fraud detection techniquesPreferred Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a related fieldA track record of success within commercial lines underwriting, ideally 4 to 6 years or moreImportant Details:Schedule: 3 days in office.
