You will be instrumental in the build-out and maintenance of our advanced fiber network, delivering both technical excellence and outstanding customer experiences. If you are detail-oriented, safety-minded, and proficient in fiber splicing techniques, we want you on our team\n\nKey Responsibilities (not limited to):\n\nPerform core fiber network duties, including the splicing of fiber optic cables in various outdoor conditions and demonstrating a working knowledge of both aerial and underground fiber network infrastructure.\nEnsure documentation by maintaining a thorough knowledge of and accurately updating splicing schematics and spreadsheets, and taking precise splicing and field notes to ensure project timelines are met.\nExecute end-to-end customer installations and repairs, performing independent fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) installations, timely repairs, and installing service drops from the terminal to customer homes or businesses.\nTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues, diagnosing and resolving customer connectivity and service issues, including the installation and troubleshooting of residential and business VoIP services.\nConduct initial quality control inspections of new plant construction to ensure adherence to build standards and project specifications.\nDeliver outstanding customer service by providing an exceptional experience to customers through friendly, patient, efficient, and knowledgeable service regarding FTTP, gateways, and and WiFi.\nMaintain safety and operational compliance, operating and maintaining a bucket truck safely in accordance with DOT and OSHA standards, and adhering to all safety protocols as outlined in the company handbook.\n\nDesired Attributes:\n\nA strong aptitude for learning and a desire to grow your skills and knowledge.\nA self-motivated and proactive approach to your work. Must be able to work independently with minimal direction (at completion of training period)\nA high level of attention to detail and a commitment to quality.\nA strong sense of urgency and dedication to following through on all tasks.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nThe ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a dynamic work environment.\nDemonstrates a strong safety focus and consistently maintains safety measures.\nComply with DOT safety and operational standards.\n\nExperience/Knowledge Required:\n\n 2+ years of relevant work experience in a field-based technical role (e.g., installer, electrician, HVAC, or other low voltage work)\nMust possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with no restrictions.\nAbility to participate in an on-call rotation, which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.\nWillingness to work in both underground and aerial environments (e.g., climbing ladders up to 32ft and operating a bucket truck).\nAbility to work outdoors in various weather conditions.\nMust be able to lift up to 80 lbs.\nAble to enter and safely operate a bucket truck with a weight limit of 300 lbs.\nMust have a flexible schedule with the ability to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays.\nSuccessful completion of DOT physical.\n\nPreferences:\n\nGeneral knowledge of telecommunications services, including internet, wireless, and phone systems.\n\nWhy work at IdeaTek:\n\nIdeaTek offers a culture where employee strengths are highlighted and recognized.
