PTO is available after 6 months. 8 paid holidays.\nSUMMARY: Our Painter is responsible for cleaning and preparing surfaces using different techniques to coat steel with paint.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nFollows oral or written instructions to determine materials or products that need to be prepared and/or painted.\nPerforms correct method to prepare materials.\nAssist with routine cleaning and maintenance in paint/preparation area.\nOperates all coating equipment including guns and collection systems.\nPaint touch-up and repairs.\nPerforms masking in accordance with shop drawings.\nFollows established safety rules and regulations to prevent potentially hazardous conditions.\nPerforms other related duties as assigned by management.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nPrior experience in manufacturing/fabrication shop is preferred but not required.\nAbility to work with minimal supervision.\nAbility to manage job duty and workflow.\nAbility to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.\nPositive attitude and desire to work as a team player.\nAbility for cross training in other areas of the shop.\nFollow safety procedures including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.\nCOMPETENCIES:\nAdaptability - Adapts to changes in the work environment; Manages competing demands; Changes approach or method to best fit the situation; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.\nAttendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; Arrives at meetings and appointments on time.\nDependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.\nQuality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality.\nSafety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods of time.\nLift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs regularly and up to 75lbs occasionally with assistance.\nFrequent use of hands and arms to handle materials, tools, and machines.\nAbility to kneel, crouch, climb, or work in awkward positions to complete work.\nVisual acuity to read measurements, inspect welds, and maintain quality standards.\nExposure to welding fumes, bright light (arc flash), heat, sparks, and airborne particles.\nEveryday use of PPE including flame-resistant clothing, respirator masks, welding helmet, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety-toe boots.\nClimate conditions vary in production areas from hot in the summer to cold in the winter.\nThe above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job.
