Heavy Truck Mechanic
A successful candidate:
Perform vehicle diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on heavy duty trucks/TRAILERS
Perform visual inspection of components in question and assess the situation in order to compile a repair path to complete the necessary repairs.
Test drive vehicle operation following repair to ensure all maintenance and repair work is performed accurately and efficiently to prevent injury and further damage.
Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts or systems, such as power and drive trans, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, and hydraulics.
Efficiently communicates vehicle status to staff
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by cleaning bay after all repairs are complete, and properly disposing of waste materials.
Skills:
Ability to use appropriate power and hand-held tools and use computer diagnostic equipment to repair, replace, and test equipment
Working knowledge of electrical systems
Ability to work independently with minimum direction
Valid Drivers License Required
Commercial Driver's License Preferred
Vocation or Technical Training or an equivalent combination of education and experience
