You'll work embedded within our LCMS research team, bridging cloud infrastructure, database architecture, and scientific computing—helping transform raw analytical data into production-ready diagnostic solutions.\n\nThis role is onsite in Westbrook, Maine.\nWhat You Will Do\nInfrastructure & Automation Leadership\n\nDesign and implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, AWS CodePipeline, and Google Cloud Build to streamline deployment of mass spectrometry-based data processing systems and proteomic computing workloads\n\nDevelop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform for AWS and Google Cloud environments\n\nBuild automated deployment systems for serverless functions using AWS Lambda and Google Cloud Run\n\nOrchestrate large-scale batch processing jobs using AWS Batch and Google Cloud Batch\n\nDatabase Architecture & Data Pipeline Development\n\nDesign and implement scalable database solutions for proteomic, metabolomic and genomic data storage and retrieval\n\nArchitect and optimize Snowflake data warehouses for large-scale multi-omic datasets\n\nBuild ETL/ELT workflows for instrument data ingestion, including metadata capture and provenance tracking\n\nManage both SQL and NoSQL database systems supporting research applications\n\nImplement data governance, backup, disaster recovery, and audit trail strategies\n\nScientific Computing Operations\n\nCreate and manage computing infrastructure for mass spectrometry-based data processing\n\nImplement scalable solutions for high-throughput multi-omic data pipelines from analytical instruments\n\nDeploy and maintain data annotation platforms and curation systems\n\nBuild monitoring and alerting systems that track pipeline health, processing backlogs, and system performance\n\nCross-functional Collaboration\n\nPartner with research scientists, bioinformaticians, and software engineers to understand computational requirements and translate scientific needs into technical solutions\n\nProvide technical leadership to implement modern DevOps practices across research workflows\n\nDevelop documentation, playbooks, and training materials to enable self-service capabilities for research teams\n\nMentor team members and drive adoption of DevOps best practices\n\nWhat You Need to Succeed\n\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)\n\n7-10+ years of experience in DevOps, Database Architecture, or related fields\n\nProven track record of leading complex infrastructure projects, preferably in research or data-intensive environments\n\nStrong experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, AWS CodePipeline, Google Cloud Build, Jenkins, ArgoCD)\n\nProficiency in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)\n\nAdvanced Python programming and scripting capabilities (Bash, PowerShell)\n\nExperience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)\n\nCloud platform expertise (AWS, Google Cloud) with focus on serverless computing and batch processing systems\n\nStrong database administration and architecture skills including:\nSnowflake data warehouse design, optimization, and administration\nSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server)\nNoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra)\nDatabase performance tuning and ETL/ELT pipeline development\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience in life sciences, biotechnology, diagnostics, or other research-intensive industries\n\nFamiliarity with scientific data workflows, laboratory informatics, or instrument data pipelines\n\nKnowledge of LCMS, mass spectrometry, or other analytical chemistry data formats and processing\n\nUnderstanding of bioinformatics file formats and scientific data standards\n\nUnderstanding of regulatory requirements for diagnostic software (ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 11)\n\nExperience with Atlassian suite administration (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)\n\nFamiliarity with Active Directory and identity management systems\n\nSnowflake SnowPro certification\n\nWhat you can expect from us:\nSalary range starting at $110,000 based on experience\n\nOpportunity for annual cash bonus\n\nHealth / Dental / Vision Benefits Day-One\n\n5% matching 401k\n\nAdditional benefits including but not limited to financial support, pet insurance, mental health resources, volunteer paid days off, employee stock program, foundation donation matching, and much more\n\nIf you’re looking for a role that’ll challenge you, offer a variety of work and learning, while helping an amazing industry, we’d love to hear from you!\n\nWhy IDEXX:\nWe’re proud of the work we do because our work matters.
