{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"5ab75ed91fe19dc8da7f731a","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/5ab75ed91fe19dc8da7f731a","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/5ab75ed91fe19dc8da7f731a","title":"Software Engineer (Mid-Level)","description":"Job Description:\n\nCimarron is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer to support the Axiom Space Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Space Suits avionics team in Houston, TX.\nKey Duties:\nDevelop, integrate, and maintain firmware within the Avionics group.\nDesign and develop communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, USB, RS232, RS485, Ethernet, or similar protocols.\nDesign and implement solutions using ADCs, DACs, interrupts, DMA, timers, digital potentiometers, and GPIO.\nCollaborate with hardware engineers to bring up new boards, debug hardware and software interactions, and develop device drivers.\nParticipate in software architecture design activities and code reviews.\nDevelop hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems and integrate them with simulation environments.\nContribute to system-level documentation, including ICDs, design artifacts, test reports, and operational procedures.\nContribute to system verification and validation activities.\nTroubleshoot and resolve issues related to performance, memory, timing, and reliability.\nCommunicate project progress, status, and potential risks clearly to stakeholders and leadership.\nImplement and maintain agile project management practices throughout the project lifecycle, adapting to changing requirements and priorities.\nPerform additional job duties as assigned in support of cross-functional initiatives and overall program success.\n\nRequired Skills, Experience, and Education:\nDue to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible for consideration at this time.\nAbility to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.\n5 or more years of experience with embedded systems, firmware, and/or driver development.\nExperience developing communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, USB, RS232, RS485, Ethernet, or similar protocols.\nExperience designing with ADCs, DACs, interrupts, DMA, timers, digital potentiometers, and GPIO.\nExperience with hardware bring-up, embedded debugging tools (e.g., JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers), and embedded toolchains.\nStrong understanding of real-time constraints, deterministic execution, and safe, reliable embedded design principles.\nStrong proficiency in C/C++ and Python, with familiarity with modern embedded development practices.\nExperience applying software and firmware security best practices.\nExperience using version control systems such as Git and GitLab within continuous integration pipelines.\nProficiency in software testing methodologies.\nDemonstrated ability to solve complex problems proactively using sound judgment.\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines while delivering high-quality results.\nDemonstrated success delivering results in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.\nAbility to present complex technical topics to management and other stakeholders.\nBachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.\nDesired Skills, Experience, and Education:\nExposure to software development in Linux environments.\nBusiness Profile:\nCimarron is a global solutions company with a strategic partnering approach to satisfying customer-driven requirements.
