The Coordinator is responsible for developing partnerships that lead to expanded learning opportunities and meaningful career opportunities for all students.\n\nEssential functions\nDevelop and maintain relationships with K-12 schools, postsecondary institutions, and regional employers\nServe as a primary liaison between education and industry partners\nIdentify workforce needs and align them with student learning opportunities\nCoordinate advisory groups or sector partnerships (such as healthcare, manufacturing, etc.) as needed\nDesign and implement career-connected learning experiences for students, including internships and apprenticeships; job shadowing and workplace tours; and career fairs and industry panels\nTrack student participation and outcomes related to workforce programs\nPlan and facilitate educator externships, industry tours, and professional learning sessions\nCollaborate with teachers and administrators to align industry needs with curriculum\nProvide educators with insights on labor market trends and in-demand skills\nSupport integration of career pathways into classroom instruction\nCoordinate scheduling, transportation, and communication for events and experiences\nEnsure compliance with safety, liability, school district, and EO policies and procedures\nManage program documentation, agreements, and reporting requirements\nCollect and analyze data on program effectiveness and participant outcomes\nPrepare reports for stakeholders, funders, and leadership\nUse feedback from students, educators, and employers to improve programming\n\nCompetencies\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nAbility to listen carefully and interpret what is being said\nExperience handling multiple assignments at the same time\nEnjoy working independently and as part of a team\nAbility to solve problems quickly and effectively\nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment\nAbility to work with ambiguity and under tight schedules\nExhibit a positive attitude\nExhibit a professional manner and appearance\nStrong organization, time management, accuracy, and productivity/prioritization skills\nHigh level of trust, integrity, and ethics\nStrong commitment to maintaining integrity and confidentiality of information\nAdvanced understanding and experience in a variety of computer applications, including use of the internet, SaaS products, Microsoft Office products, etc.\nWorking knowledge of office equipment (computers, printers, copiers, conference phones)\nWorking knowledge of online remote work technologies\nAbility to participate effectively and contribute meaningfully to meetings\nAbility to collaborate with community partners\n\nWork environment\n\nThis position is based in the Abingdon, Virginia office.\n\nPhysical demands\n\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.\n\nPosition type and expected hours of work\n\nEmployee should be able to work core hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional meetings, events, and possible emergencies outside of core hours.\n\nTravel required\n\nThe ideal candidate will be available to attend early morning, evening, and/or weekend meetings in person and should be able to travel independently where needed.\n\nCertificates, licenses, registrations required\nValid driver's license and automobile insurance\nReliable high-speed home internet\n\nRequired education and experience\nBachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in education, business, public administration or a related field\nTwo to four years’ experience in program coordination, education, or workforce development\nKnowledge of local employers and/or experience with local education systems\nPreferred experience\nExperience working with K-12 systems and/or industry partners\nKnowledge of career pathways, CTE (Career & Technical Education), or workforce systems\nFamiliarity with labor market data and regional economic trends\nAffirmative Action/EEO statement\nEO is an equal employment opportunity employer.
