Your role will also involve training users, creating instructional materials, and providing support during deployment.\n\nWhat You'll Do\nLocation: Hybrid in office + up to 50% travel required. Must be within commutable distance to one of our Hub locations: Scottsdale AZ, Seattle WA, Boston MA, Atlanta GA.\n\nReports to: Director, Data Integration and Architecture.\n\nDevelop and maintain data pipelines, models, and dashboards to support business analytics and reporting needs.\n\nPartner with public safety client agencies to understand their business processes, organizational needs, and how our products meet digital transformation objectives.\n\nConfigure system databases to prepare the Axon Records and Standards analytics.\n\nAuthor and configure Power BI and/or SSMS reports, dashboards, and analytics as needed for our customers.\n\nTrain public safety agencies on Power BI and/or SSMS reporting capabilities in Axon applications.\n\nBuild tools that support clients in managing and navigating their digital transformation journey.\n\nCreate training strategies and plans; develop instructional materials for customer software.\n\nUse instructional design methodologies and technologies related to reporting and analytics.\n\nCommunicate testing plans, training plans, activities, and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.\n\nPartner with Axon Academy on developing eLearning training assets and delivery via our learning management system.\n\nCollaborate with product engineering teams to assess content, system developments/customizations, update test/final training materials, and provide client updates.\n\nServe as a product subject‑matter expert in crime analytics and reporting.\n\nOptimize data models and queries for performance and efficiency.\n\nLeverage AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude, Gemini) to accelerate SQL query development, dashboard building, and data model optimization.\n\nLead complex, multi‑agency analytics implementations end to end with minimal supervision.\n\nMentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members.\n\nDrive best practices for SQL development, dashboard design, template versioning, and data modeling across the team.\n\nAct as the primary technical SME and escalation point for customer analytics issues.\n\nWhat You Bring\n\n7+ years of experience delivering and/or managing public safety software testing, training, and/or implementation projects.\n\nDemonstrated ability to operate independently on ambiguous, high‑visibility projects.\n\nExperience mentoring or technically leading peers.\n\nBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in computer science/data analytics (preferred).\n\nProficiency in SQL Management Studio, Power BI, or similar reporting tools.\n\nFamiliarity with AI‑assisted development tools to write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries and build dashboards more efficiently.\n\nDeep knowledge of public safety crime analysis (preferred).\n\nTop‑notch communication skills; ability to communicate with both technical and non‑technical audiences.\n\nExposure to software development and continuous process improvement processes.\n\nProven success in transforming raw content into engaging, compelling learning experiences.\n\nAbility to write clear copy, instructions, and messages for both internal and external audiences, including audio and video scripts.\n\nMust pass a CJIS background check and maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information.\n\nBenefits\n\nCompetitive salary and 401(k) with employer match.\n\nDiscretionary paid time off.\n\nPaid parental leave for all.\n\nMedical, dental, and vision plans.\n\nFitness programs.\n\nEmotional and mental wellness support.\n\nLearning and development programs.\n\nSnacks in our offices.\n\nBenefits listed herein may vary depending on the nature of your employment and the location where you work.\n\nImportant Notes\nThe above job description is not intended as, nor should it be construed as, an exhaustive list of duties, responsibilities, skills, efforts, or working conditions associated with this job.
