As a member of our Structures team at RK&K you will play a pivotal role in the design and analysis of transportation structures. You should have local state DOT and municipal experience, be highly proactive, able to develop creative technical solutions, have a strong understanding of structural operations and hands-on experience with bridge design.\nThese positions are available in any RK&K office. Relocation assistance is available.\nEssential Functions\nUtilize expertise in structural engineering principles to design bridge structures that meet project requirements and adhere to regulatory standards\nPerform structural analyses utilizing industry-standard software tools such as MicroStation, Leap Bridge Concrete, AASHTOWare BrR, Open Bridge Designer, or similar programs.\nDevelop detailed design drawings for construction\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage bridge projects from inception through completion\nCoordinate with contractors and regulatory agencies to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget\nMaintain rigorous standards of quality and compliance with relevant codes and standards throughout the design and construction process\nConduct thorough reviews of design calculations, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and safety\nCultivate strong relationships with clients by understanding their needs, communicating project progress effectively, and providing innovative solutions to address their challenges and requirements\nRequired Skills and Experience\nMinimum of 4 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on bridge design and transportation projects\nBachelor's degree in civil engineering with an emphasis on Structures\nProfessional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain within 6 months\nFamiliarity with applying industry standards including local DOT Standards, AASHTO, LRFD, etc.\nAdhere to strict QA/QC requirements\nPrevious experience working with DOT, local municipalities and counties\nPreferred Skills and Experience\nMaster's degree in civil engineering\nExperience with new and rehabilitated bridges, retaining walls, and other structures\nExperience coordinating or participating with the Design Team and Contractor during project execution\nOther Duties\nThis job description indicates the general nature and levels of work, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other essential functions (as covered under ADA).
