This includes supporting the Process Control Firewall and all connected Process Control networks, along with maintaining network security. The role also involves supporting the servers and workstations on those networks, managing the interfaces between them, and coordinating all related disaster recovery functions, including hardware and software maintenance, upgrades, and replacements. Additionally, the Process Computing/Cyber Specialist is responsible for supporting the PI historian, developing and maintaining process‑control‑related applications, and implementing new technologies that align with Whiting Refinery’s objectives. The position also encompasses cyber security activities across all Whiting Process Control networks, such as antivirus management, whitelisting, and operating system patching, as well as reviewing project‑related network changes to ensure compliance with BP Digital Security requirements.\n\nKey Accountabilities:\n\nMonitors and maintains the existing Process Control Networks, with particular focus on providing reliability and security. Guide for expansion of this network as necessary.\n\nMonitors/maintains/upgrades the Process Control redundant firewalls and implements rule changes as the need arises.\n\nMonitors/maintains/upgrades Windows-based Process Control related servers and workstations. Operating systems used include Windows Server and desktop operating systems.\n\nMonitors and maintains existing Visual Studio. Net (C++, VB), VBA, and script-based applications. Develops new applications as requested using a combination of Visual Studio.
