We take pride in fostering a safe environment for all employees in our climate-controlled plants.\n\nSummary: The Folder Operator is responsible for the setup, adjustment, and safe operation of the MBO/Stahl Folding machine. The MBO/Stahl automatically folds, slits, perforates and/ or scores printed sheets in preparation for binding or shipment.\nSchedule: 2nd shift, Monday - Friday, eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM, or similar. Training may occur other times.\nSalary Range: $17.00 - $19.00 hourly\nCompensation commensurate with experience.\nAt time, we are not engaging with agencies or third-party recruiters. Thank you for understanding.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nAccess the batching system to view batch lists and identify priority jobs to be completed\nReview job specifications to determine page sequence, type of fold paper size and packing requirements\nPre-set side guide, fold plates, fold rollers, and any slitting blades or perforators required\nLoad sheets onto feeder or job sheets into proper positions to determine final settings of units\nAdjust machine during production run as required for, adherence to all quality and customer requirements\nJog folded signatures or brochures for use in the next operation or for shipment to customer\nMay operate two or more machines simultaneously\nRecord job information on load tags and time sheets\nEnsure jobs are meeting quality and quantity requirements\nTroubleshoot machine problems, resolve if possible, notifying Floor Supervisor\nMaintain proper machine maintenance and lubrication\nRemove waste items for recycling\nComplete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.\nRegularly perform general housekeeping duties in your work area(s)\nWear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required\nAdhere to all safety policies and protocols and maintain a safe working environment\nAssist in cultivating an interdependent safety culture by reporting workplace hazards, related injuries, illnesses and or/near misses to management immediately\nAttend all department/company meetings\nOther duties as assigned\nFor an extensive list of responsibilities, duties and physical demands/work environment please refer to the attached Job Description.\nEXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS\nEDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES:\nHigh School Diploma or GED equivalency; or six-months to one-year related experience in a manufacturing environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience\nThree (3) year’s experience with Muller Martini-Presto saddle stitchers\nCRITICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:\nProblem-Solving and Adaptability: Strong problem-solving skills when faced with unexpected challenges, such as machine malfunctions, material shortages, or errors in print quality. Ability to adapt to new printing technologies or changes in production schedules, ensuring smooth operations despite changes.\nTime Management & Efficiency: Ability to manage multiple print jobs simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met without sacrificing quality. Organizing workflows, preparing materials in advance, and optimizing print runs for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.\nAttention to Detail: Precision in monitoring print jobs to ensure all details, such as color accuracy, image sharpness, and print placement, meet the required standards. Detecting small defects or inconsistencies during production and taking corrective action immediately.\nCommunication Skills: Ability to read and understand corporate policies, job-related documents, and written/verbal instructions in English to ensure effective and compliant job performance.\nStrong foundational math skills, with the ability to perform basic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.\nHighly detail-oriented, organized, and efficient in managing time, with a proven ability to meet deadlines and complete tasks accurately.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nThe physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
