Event Operations Supervisor
Riggs Washington DC sits on the iconic downtown corner of Penn Quarter's 9th and F Street in a historic building once home to Riggs National Bank. Each of the Hotel's 181 guest rooms offers a playful nod to the building's legacy. Riggs is home to the all-occasion European brasserie-inspired restaurant Café Riggs, as well as Silver Lyan - a subterranean bar from the internationally acclaimed Ryan Chetiyawardana, also known as Mr Lyan.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesEvent & Banquet OperationsOversee the setup, execution, and breakdown of banquet functions, meetings, weddings, and special events.Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and ensure all event details are executed accurately.Conduct pre-shift meetings with banquet staff to communicate event timelines, service expectations, VIP details, and operational needs.Ensure banquet rooms and event spaces are set according to hotel standards and client specifications.Monitor service throughout events to ensure high-quality guest experience and timely execution.Serve as the main point of contact for banquet staff during events and communicate effectively with the kitchen, culinary, stewarding, audio visual, and hotel leadership teams.Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, concerns, and service recovery opportunities.Team Leadership & SupervisionSupervise banquet servers, bartenders, housepersons, and support staff during events.Assist with training, coaching, and development of banquet team members.Support scheduling, staffing, and labor management to ensure operational efficiency.Maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.Ensure team members comply with hotel policies, grooming standards, attendance expectations, and safety procedures.QualificationsMinimum 1-2 years of banquet, restaurant, or hotel event operations experience required.Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.Strong understanding of banquet service standards and event execution.Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.Hourly Rate:$20 hourBenefitsMedical, Dental & Vision Insurance (for full-time employees)6 complimentary nights a year at any Lore Group hotelLore Group Employee & Immediate Family RatesLore Group Friend and Family Rates50% Employee discount and 25% Friends and Family discount at over 800 partner hotels via Lore Discovery50% discount in Lore Group restaurants and bars10 Days Vacation - Plus every year an extra dayCompany Paid Life Insurance 1.5X annual salaryEmployee Assistance ProgramReferral Incentive401K with 5% MatchTraining and Development ProgramsAdditional perks via United HealthcareComplimentary Employee MealsEmployee Recognition programsEqual Employment Opportunity Lore Group does not discriminate against employees or applicants for employment based upon race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, personal appearance, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, family responsibilities, genetic information, matriculation, or political affiliation.
