The Accessibility Coordinator promotes and facilitates equal access to all Emory & Henry College programs and activities for students with disabilities through reasonable and appropriate accommodations, education, and advocacy; and provides support to the Dean of Student Success and Director of Academic Support on wider student success initiatives.\nDuties & Responsibilities:\nReview submitted medical and psychoeducational documentation to determine if diagnoses, symptoms, etc., rise to the level of disability within the purview of the law. Determine barriers and reasonable and appropriate accommodations based on review of documentation and student intake appointments.\nServe as the institution’s 504 coordinator for faculty and staff accessibility needs\nMeet with students to answer questions, review documentation, discuss barriers, create accommodation plans, revise accommodation plans, problem solve, educate, and refer to local services.\nBased on identified barriers, documentation review, and intake appointments with students, determine and implement reasonable accommodations, and provide students with support in notifying faculty and staff of those accommodations.\nSupervise the testing center and proctor exams, with the assistance of the Student Success Center Operations Manager.\nMeet with students with disabilities on a regular basis to provide academic coaching to assist with executive functioning tasks such as organization, prioritization, and time management.\nArrange and conduct ADA Accessibility Surveys; conduct ESA (Emotional Support Animal) Committee Meetings; serve as a committee member on Care Team and other standing or ad hoc committees; develop policy, provide training, and advise administration, faculty, and staff on matters related to accessibility and disability, as needed.\nUtilize Pharos as the management software for Accessibility Services coordination, paperwork, and tracking.\nStudent Success Support:\nAlong with the Executive Director of the Student Success Center, serve as a collaborative colleague in the Powell Center for Student Success to provide holistic student support, participate in PCSS staff meetings, present about the PCSS in special events such as Admitted Students Day and Orientation, and assist with staffing the office during days or hours when the PCSS Administrative Assistant is out of the office.\nMeet with students who are identified through the academic early-alert system (The Hub) as needing academic or other support, helping them create a plan for academic success, facilitating communication with their professors, reviewing their class schedules, and referring to other services as appropriate.\nServe as a primary point of contact for a caseload of assigned students for student success interventions.\nAssist in initiatives to re-engage students who are at risk for leaving the college based on grades, financial aid or accounts concerns, etc.\nWorking Conditions:\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
