This role involves advanced system administration tasks such as configuring complex systems, troubleshooting performance issues, implementing security protocols, and supporting disaster recovery operations. The Systems Administrator II also provides tier-2 support for escalated technical issues, mentors junior staff, and collaborates with senior IT teams on system upgrades and infrastructure projects. With a strong understanding of both on-premises and cloud technologies, this role is critical to ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of IT systems to meet business needs.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nResponsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:\r\nAdministers and maintains the organization's server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and updates for both on-premises and cloud environments.\r\nMonitors system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to optimize reliability, security, and efficiency.\r\nPerforms advanced system configurations, including network services, virtualization, storage management, and database maintenance.\r\nManages user accounts, access controls, and group policies within directory services (e.g., Active Directory).\r\nImplements and maintains system security measures, including patch management, antivirus, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.\r\nCollaborates with senior IT staff on infrastructure design, system upgrades, and migrations.\r\nOversees data backup and recovery operations, ensuring data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.\r\nCreates and maintains detailed system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.\r\nProvides tier-2 technical support for complex issues escalated from the helpdesk team.\r\nMentors and supports junior systems administrators and IT staff, providing guidance on best practices.\r\nStays updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to contribute to system improvements and future planning.\r\nQualifications\r\nAccountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.\r\nAccuracy - Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.\r\nAnalytical – Ability to analyze statistical data, keep accurate records and complete reports.\r\nCommunication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.\r\nCommunication, Written - Ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely.\r\nCustomer Oriented - Ability to take care of the customers' needs while following company procedures.\r\nEthical - Ability to demonstrate conduct conforming to a set of values and accepted standards.\r\nHonesty / Integrity - Ability to be truthful, maintain high level of confidentiality and be seen as credible in the workplace.\r\nJudgment – Ability to use good judgment and discretion as it relates to interpreting policies and procedures.\r\nMultitasker – Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.\r\nProblem Solving - Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.\r\nRelationship Building - Ability to effectively build relationships with customers and co-workers.\r\nSafety-Minded – Creating a safe work environment; managing risks; reducing exposure liabilities.\r\nTime Management - Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines\r\nEducation & Experience:\r\nBS/BA in Information Systems or Computer Science or relevant field required from an accredited college or university desired. Three or more years of experience in system administration, with proficiency in managing Windows, Linux and cloud environments. Strong knowledge of virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure).\r\nComputer Skills\r\nOffice365\r\nVMware\r\nActive Directory\r\nSome application Support\r\nProficient in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint Experience).\r\nLicense/Credentials:\r\nPossession of a valid driver's license\r\nThis opportunity is available as a W2 position with a competitive benefits package .
