FAMILY LAW PARALEGALCharleston, South Carolina, Downtown Area (29401)Full-Time | Onsite with Hybrid ConsiderationLHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a respected Charleston-based law firm to recruit an experienced Family Law Paralegal to support a high-volume family law practice. This role requires strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to support attorneys and clients through complex and emotionally sensitive legal matters.This position is fully onsite during the first 90 days to support onboarding and training. After a successful onboarding period, a hybrid schedule (three days onsite, two days remote) may be considered.Ideal candidates have 3+ years of tenured experience handling substantial net-worth divorce and high-conflict custody issues in South Carolina as a billing paralegal.Compensation and BillablesSalary range: $70,000 to $90,000, depending on experienceAnnual billable target: approximately 1,200 hoursWork EnvironmentOffice located in downtown Charleston near the historic district (ZIP code 29401)Fully onsite for the initial 90-day onboarding periodHybrid schedule potential following successful onboardingStandard business hours with flexibility based on case and client needsWhat You'll Do:Prepare, review, and file family court pleadings, motions, affidavits, financial disclosures, and discovery documentsMaintain and manage electronic and physical case files with accuracy and attention to detailTrack deadlines, hearings, and court dates to ensure compliance with South Carolina Family Court rulesSupport attorneys with case strategy execution by managing task flow, filings, and next stepsAssist with post-judgment matters and enforcement actions, including preparation of related documentationProvide support for hearings and trials, including exhibit preparation, witness coordination, and courtroom materialsDraft discovery requests and responses and assist with compiling production materialsCommunicate professionally with clients, court staff, and opposing counselCoordinate with external professionals such as forensic accountants, custody evaluators, therapists, and valuation experts as neededSchedule hearings, mediations, depositions, and client meetingsEnter billable time accurately and consistently in accordance with firm expectationsProactively support case progression by anticipating attorney and case needsRequired Minimum Qualifications:1+ years of hands-on experience with South Carolina Family Court procedures and filings3+ years of family law paralegal experience within a U.S. law firm environment, supporting litigation, mediation, and contested hearingsStrong working knowledge of family law processes, deadlines, and court rulesProven ability to manage multiple active matters simultaneouslyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, legal case management, and time-tracking systemsParalegal certificate, degree, or equivalent practical experienceMaintain strict confidentiality and professionalism at all timesDemonstrate strong ownership of assigned responsibilities and attention to detailMeet billable expectations with timely and accurate time entryWork effectively within a collaborative, team-oriented legal environmentCommunicate proactively and reliably with attorneys and colleaguesDemonstrate emotional intelligence and discretion when working with clients in high-stress or sensitive situationsCompensation and BenefitsThis position offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and a comprehensive benefits package.
