Under the general supervision of the Asset Management and Operations Team, the Analyst OR Associate will be responsible for activities relating to the financial analysis and operations of Ballast’s investment portfolio. As the Analyst OR Associate gains experience and knowledge, the level of contribution from a financial analysis perspective is expected to increase. The Company is a vertically-integrated owner-operator of multifamily, student housing, and single family rental assets in the greater Western United States. The Company has several strategic partnerships with global institutional capital providers and has experienced strong growth since its founding in 2014. Through a shared purpose and common goal, the organization is built to serve its partners and communities within which it invests.\n\nPrimary Responsibilities\n\nPerform return on investment (ROI) analyses to assess the viability of potential projects\n\nPrepare comprehensive ad-hoc analyses, supporting informed decision-making around operational expense reduction projects\n\nAnalyze feasibility of strategic business ventures and growth opportunities\n\nWork with departments on ad-hoc projects to reduce operating expenses for our MF buildings\n\nAssist integrated departments to achieve profitability goals\n\nConduct sensitivity analyses to assess the impact of various scenarios on investment returns, providing clear and concise summaries for senior management\n\nMonitor key operating metrics, identify variances, and provide actionable insights to enhance operational efficiency\n\nCollaborate across multiple departments (including Accounting, Operations, Construction Management, and Leasing) to ensure accurate and aligned objectives\n\nInvestor Relations & Communication\n\nSupport participation in external calls with key investors and stakeholders, contributing to effective communication and relationship management\n\nManage and update several asset management web-based dashboards for dissemination internally and externally\n\nAssist in the preparation of materials for investor meetings\n\nMinimum Requirements And Qualifications\n\nBachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics, or related field\n\n1-5 years of real estate private equity, real estate development, real estate brokerage, or investment banking\n\nStrong in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint; working knowledge of Yardi is a plus\n\nKey Skills And Competencies\n\nClear, articulate communicator, able to maintain effective documentation\n\nStrong analytical and qualitative skills\n\nAble to prioritize, organize, and meet all deadlines\n\nCommitted to high standards of excellence and ethics\n\nEffectively identify issues and formulate solutions\n\nCapability to think critically, solve problems logically, and make well-reasoned decisions\n\nAbility to probe, ask the right questions, and dig beneath the surface to test the validity of information\n\nGoal-oriented and diligent\n\nBallast is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
