Efficiency is a significant focus of this team. The Senior Technical PM will improve and execute on IT operations hardware projects.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nResponsibilities:\nDesign:\nDisplays deep knowledge in multiple technical areas and acquires knowledge of industry trends, competitor products, and advances in various engineering fields. Shares knowledge with others on their team and helps other engineers understand.\nCreates robust, scalable, secure, and extensible designs and verification plans that account for current industry/competitive threats for the hardware engineering aspects of a variety of established, complex products or feature areas.\nDevelops and implements solutions to complex technical and/or design challenges that may involve multiple technical and business-related variables, and applies lessons learned to help develop future focused solutions to complex design challenges, focused around efficiency.\nDevelops drawings that contribute to the development of products or features using modeling tools. Provides guidance to other engineers on the use of fundamental features of modeling tools.\nTesting and Verification:\nReviews documentation to help ensure that the appropriate test requirements and improvements are included in relevant hardware designs and specifications.\nCo-develops methods of measurement with appropriate partners for measuring features of new product technology based on newly created or modified verification plans.\nCreates external testing supplier or partner engagement plans, evaluates supplier or partner readiness, and captures supplier or partner knowledge for use across a product group.\nCan execute on and document results of hardware testing\nUses root cause analysis to identify highly complex problems or flaws that may affect a feature or product design change and identifies possible solutions.\nProvides guidance to other engineers developing product features.\nProject Implementation:\nGenerates project implementation schedules, monitors performance against schedules, and helps determine resource dependencies for the hardware engineering aspects of complex features or products. Guides other team members.\nImplements and tracks product plans that account for the user experience, enable customer/partner testing scenarios, identify critical requirements (e.g., function, quality, safety, reparability, and/or reliability) and are verifiable.\nEvaluates and approves a variety of details of the reliability of materials, properties, and techniques used in production of large designs.\nIdentifies the most significant project risks at the outset of a project and develops plans to address those risks.\nCommunicates project progress/status within and external to the project team (e.g., to customers and partners) and escalates issues as necessary.\nReporting and Documentation:\nWrites customized reports and functional specifications for an established product or product feature, based on audits and information from product development and verification processes. Reviews and provides feedback on other engineer's documentation.\nDocuments complex details about materials, components, and/or functionality for complex devices via accepted drawing release processes and highlights potential compatibility, safety, and compliance issues.\nAccurately records and tracks changes to designs following established configuration management and provides guidance to other engineers documenting these details\nOther:\nEmbody our Microsoft One culture and values.\n\nQualifications\n\nRequired/minimum qualifications\nBachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.\n2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.\nAdditional or preferred qualifications\nBachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.\n6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.\n1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).\nBackground Check Requirements:\nAbility to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
