Position Type:Student Support Services/Speech and Language PathologistDate Posted:3/16/2026Location:Tillamook School District 9Date Available:August 2026Closing Date:3/23/26 or until filledThe Speech-Language pathologist provides comprehensive speech, language, and pragmatic services to students.This involves conducting assessments, developing IEPs, providing therapy, and collaboration with families and staff to improve student outcomes in compliance with state and federal regulations.QUALIFICATIONS:Master's degree in speech pathology or equivalentValid Oregon Board of Examiners Speech-Language Pathology certification or TSPC license with Speech Impaired EndorsementProficient in task prioritization, time management, resource allocation, and organization with strong attention to detailAbility to establish positive relationships with students, staff, and parentsStrong written/oral communication, technological competence, and ability to produce concise professional documentsKnowledge of and adherence to Standards for Competent and Ethical Performance of Oregon EducatorsValid First Aid and CPR certificationESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Assessment and evaluation of students for special education eligibility and intervention strategies.Preparation and presentation of comprehensive evaluation reports.Collaboration with parents, school staff and outside consultants on speech, language, and pragmatic interventions.Provide speech, language, and pragmatic services as outlined in IEPs.Provide training, regular observation, and feedback regarding communication instruction delivery.Facilitate meetings, problem solve, and manage caseloads efficiently.Maintain thorough ongoing records/documentation for individual students receiving therapy or other school provided speech services and prepare pertinent reports.Develop and maintain systems to record, monitor, and interpret student progress.Teach alternative communication modes and use assistive technology communication strategies/devices used with students who have significant mental and physical disabilities.Assist in proper referrals of individuals to agencies and specialists in the community, as necessary.Knowledge of state and federal special education law and regulations sufficient to ensure legal compliance.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:* Actual terms of employment and benefits may vary depending upon ratification of the upcoming TEA Agreement.
