Team Lead, Site Operations (Oncology)
Piper Companies is seeking a Team Lead, Site Operations (Oncology) to join a growing organization within the clinical research and healthcare industry for a permanent, onsite position based in Downers Grove, IL. The Team Lead, Site Operations (Oncology) will oversee site-level operational teams supporting oncology clinical trials, ensuring high-quality execution, operational consistency, and an exceptional experience for both patients and sponsors.Responsibilities of the Team Lead, Site Operations include: Lead and manage site operations staff, including coordinators and research nurses, by assigning workloads and setting daily priorities. Oversee site start-up, ongoing study support, and close-out activities to ensure alignment with study timelines, protocols, and internal procedures. Track and evaluate site performance metrics, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and site satisfaction. Partner with cross-functional teams such as project management and monitoring to proactively resolve site-level operational challenges. Support hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance development of site operations team members.Qualifications for the Team Lead, Site Operations include: Background in oncology-focused clinical research environments. Hands-on experience in clinical site operations, clinical research support, or broader clinical operations. Previous experience leading, mentoring, or acting as a point of guidance for site staff. Strong working knowledge of GCP, clinical trial workflows, and regulatory documentation requirements. Proven ability to manage multiple studies and competing priorities in a fast-paced setting. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills with a collaborative approach to problem solving. Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, healthcare, business, or a related discipline.Compensation for the Team Lead, Site Operations: Salary Range: $85,000-$90,000/year (USD)Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401(k), and sick leave if required by lawThis job opens for applications on 5/28/26.
