Psychiatrist

*This position is located at the Monterey County Jail in Salinas, CA.* Pay is $200/hr. We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatrist to join our healthcare team and provide the best patient care to youth within the correctional environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality mental health care to patients and contributing to their overall well-being, as well as working and communicating effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities: Work with the Health Services Administrator and the Mental Health Director in the coordination of the mental health care delivery system Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients, as well as follow-up and chronic care appointments Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual youth needs Provide education to youth about their treatment and ensure comprehension Manage crisis situations effectively by conducting risk assessments and determining appropriate level of care Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care Stay current on advancements in psychiatry and behavioral health practices Qualifications: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree Board certification in Psychiatry Valid state medical license to practice as a Psychiatrist in the state of California Proficiency in psychopharmacology Strong understanding of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations Excellent interpersonal skills for effective patient care Experience in crisis management and behavioral health interventions Joining our team as a Psychiatrist offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of youth struggling with behavioral and mental health issues so as to stabilize them and increase their ability and skills to become productive members of society upon discharge, in turn reducing recidivism.
