Join us.\n\nJob Description\n\nWe are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with experience in hyperscale and colocation data center facility design to join our growing Data Center practice. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in large scale concrete and steel structures, a proven track record delivering fast paced technology / industrial projects, and a passion for advancing low carbon and resilient design strategies.\nThis position offers the flexibility of a remote work schedule and can be based from a variety of locations in the US where AECOM has an office.\nAlthough the position is primarily remote periodic travel may be required for client meetings, key project milestones, onsite collaboration sessions, or other business‑critical activities. Travel is expected to be occasional and scheduled in advance\nAECOM is a leader in the global data center consulting industry with robust teams in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with our teams around the world on high-profile, fast-paced data center projects for global clients. This is a hands-on, client-facing role with an opportunity for upward career mobility.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead and perform structural design and analysis for multiple data center buildings, including hyperscale and colocation type facilities.\nDevelop design documentation for tilt-up concrete panels, precast structures, steel framing systems, and deep and shallow foundations.\nCoordinate design deliverables with architectural, civil, MEP, and construction teams to ensure alignment with project objectives and client standards.\nOversee preparation of construction documents, specifications, and calculations, ensuring quality, code compliance, and technical excellence.\nProvide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.\nEngage with clients, contractors, and review authorities to address technical queries and design clarifications.\nSupport business development, proposal writing, and conceptual structural design for new pursuits.\nTravel, as needed, for project-related activities such as client meetings and site visits.\n\nQualifications\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in building structures design and analysis or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education in Structural or Civil Engineering.\nLicensed U.S. Professional Engineer (PE or SE).\nExperience specifically in data center, mission critical, or large scale logistics/industrial facilities.\nExperience with BIM ACC (Revit), ETABS, RISA, RAM, SAP2000, Safe, etc.\nExperience with precast concrete systems, steel design, seismic design, and foundation systems.\nDemonstrated experience with low embodied carbon materials and sustainable structural design approaches.\nPreferred Qualifications:\n3+ years of experience with data center facilities and familiarity of data center specific design standards and structural resiliency requirements.\nLEED, Envision, or active leader in SE 2050 implementation.\nExpertise in low embodied carbon materials, sustainable structural systems, and emerging industry best practices\nExcellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.\nAbility to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary and geographically diverse teams.\nAbility to interpret and apply national and local building codes.\n\nAdditional Information\n\nRelocation is not available for this role\nSponsorship is not available for this role\nAbout AECOM\nAECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
