The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility.\nThis is a full-time position with a full benefit package listed below that includes opportunities for professional growth, direct hire by our customers, and additional opportunities within our own organization.\nElectrical Engineer\nThe selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff supporting the development, integration, validation, and continuous improvement of electrical systems used on engines, powertrain systems, and off-highway construction and mining equipment. Work may include vehicle electrical architecture, wiring harnesses, sensors, actuators, displays, machine controls integration, power distribution systems, and electrical validation activities. The work will be highly collaborative with both internal customers and external suppliers.\nResponsibilities\nSupport the design, development, and integration of electrical systems used on heavy equipment and power systems.\nCreate, review, and modify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation.\nSupport electrical validation activities including bench testing, machine testing, and field testing.\nTroubleshoot electrical and electronic system issues discovered during prototype, pilot, and production builds.\nSupport machine integration activities involving sensors, actuators, displays, controllers, and communication networks.\nWork with validation, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure robust product performance.\nInvestigate product failures and perform root cause analysis to identify corrective actions.\nSupport product improvement, cost reduction, and product health initiatives.\nAssist with release and implementation of electrical design changes.\nSupport CAN communication system integration and troubleshooting activities.\nCollaborate with suppliers on component selection, development, and issue resolution.\nSupport factory operations by troubleshooting electrical and electronic system concerns.\nCollaborate with other groups (Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Validation, Quality, Supplier Development, etc.) as necessary.\nTravel to supplier or customer sites pending project need (up to ~10%).\nRequirements\nBachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.\nEntry level candidates and experienced candidates will be considered.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent communication both written and verbal.\nDemonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments.\nAbility to thrive in a team environment.\nAbility to travel (less than 10% of time).\nDesired Attributes\nExperience with CAN/J1939 communication systems.\nExperience with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical troubleshooting.\nExperience with sensors, actuators, displays, and control systems.\nExperience with electrical validation and testing activities.\nExperience with data acquisition systems and measurement equipment.\nExperience with manufacturing processes and factory support.\nExposure to off-road mobile equipment, power systems, engines, or heavy machinery.\nExperience supporting prototype, pilot, or production programs.\nDesire to work in an engineering environment focusing on robust & cost effective design.\nVisa sponsorship is NOT available for this position.\nPay Range: $70,000 - $105,000 – Commensurate with experience\nAbout RFA Engineering\nRFA Engineering has provided product development and engineering services to industry leading customers since 1943.
