This role will play a critical leadership role in an upcoming ERP implementation, including data cleanup, process standardization, and system integration. The Controller will partner closely with operations, supply chain, and leadership to improve cost visibility, margin performance, and financial controls.\n\nDuties and responsibilities\nManufacturing Cost Accounting & Inventory\nMaintain and oversee standard cost systems, including material, labor, and overhead rates\nAnalyze variances (material usage, labor efficiency, overhead absorption) and provide actionable insights\nEnsure accurate inventory valuation, including WIP, raw materials, and finished goods\nOversee cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliation\nPartner with operations to improve cost accuracy, scrap reporting, and production efficiency\nFinancial Reporting & Close\nLead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes\nPrepare timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP\nManage general ledger, account reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals\nEnsure proper capitalization and depreciation of manufacturing assets\nERP Implementation & Data Management (Key Focus)\nServe as finance lead for ERP implementation, working with internal teams and external consultants\nLead financial data cleanup prior to ERP go-live, including:\nChart of accounts\nItem masters, BOMs, routings, and cost data\nVendor and customer records\nInventory balances and historical transactions\nDefine and test financial workflows (AP, AR, inventory, costing, production reporting)\nSupport system testing (UAT), cutover planning, and post-go-live stabilization\nDevelop documentation, controls, and training related to new ERP processes\nBudgeting, Forecasting & Analysis\nLead annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes\nDevelop product costing models and margin analysis by product, customer, and production line\nProvide detailed financial analysis to support pricing, capital investments, and operational decisions\nMonitor KPIs related to manufacturing performance, inventory turns, and cost absorption\nInternal Controls, Compliance & Audit\nDesign and maintain internal controls over financial reporting and inventory\nCoordinate internal and external audits, including inventory observations\nEnsure compliance with tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements\nLeadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration\nSupervise and develop accounting staff\nWork closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and IT\nAct as a trusted financial partner to plant leadership and executive management\n\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field\nCPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred\nExperience\n5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment\nStrong hands-on experience with standard costing and inventory accounting\nDirect involvement in at least one ERP implementation or major system upgrade\nExperience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Plex, IQMS or similar)\nSkills & Competencies\nDeep understanding of manufacturing cost structures and variance analysis\nStrong data management and data cleanup experience\nAdvanced Excel skills; strong ERP and reporting tool proficiency\nHighly organized with strong project management skills\nAbility to translate financial data into operational insights\nDetail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment\nWorking conditions\nPrimarily on-site in a manufacturing or plant environment\nAdditional hours may be required during month-end, inventory counts, and ERP go-live\nCompensation & Benefits\nCompetitive salary based on experience\nHealth, dental, and vision insurance\nRetirement plan with employer match\nPaid time off and holidays","company":"Tasus","rawCompany":"tasus","city":"Bloomington","state":"IN","isRemote":false,"isActive":false,"createdAt":"2026-04-14T11:01:22.982Z","occupations":[{"code":"11-3031.01","title":"Treasurers and Controllers","slug":"treasurers-and-controllers"},{"code":"13-2011.00","title":"Accountants and Auditors","slug":"accountants-and-auditors"},{"code":"11-3031.00","title":"Financial Managers","slug":"financial-managers"}],"industries":[{"code":"541219","title":"Other Accounting Services","slug":"other-accounting-services"},{"code":"332710","title":"Machine Shops","slug":"machine-shops"},{"code":"921130","title":"Public Finance Activities","slug":"public-finance-activities"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Controller","description":"Job purpose\nThe Financial Controller will oversee all accounting and financial operations for a manufacturing organization, with a strong focus on cost accounting, inventory management, and production financial analysis.
