AMT | Medical Assistant - Occupational Health

Job Summary: Provide essential support in healthcare delivery and patient care management within a clinical setting. Responsibilities vary daily based on the practice's needs. Essential Responsibilities:Deliver direct and delegated patient care, recognizing normal and abnormal indicators to identify at-risk clients. Follow established standards and guidelines for patient care. Respond to phone inquiries with appropriate triage, offering reassurance, education, and guidance.Ensure smooth healthcare service delivery throughout patient visits. Maintain accurate, complete medical records. Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints. Monitor patients for abnormal symptoms, communicate findings to physicians, and document accordingly. Confirm patient understanding of physician instructions upon discharge. Enter medical record data and billing information into electronic systems.Support testing and treatment procedures under physician supervision. Assist with splint and dressing applications. Execute physician orders, manage sample medications and logs, coordinate patient testing and admissions, and obtain necessary referrals. Retrieve test results and notify patients. Aid in minor surgery and physical exam preparations. Secure consents before invasive procedures or immunizations. Distribute educational materials and ensure patient comprehension of treatments and medications. Perform prescribed lab tests and maintain lab logs.Maintain clinical areas by stocking and organizing supplies and patient education materials. Ensure exam rooms are clean, orderly, and compliant with sterilization protocols. Verify equipment functionality and instrument sterility.Perform additional duties as assigned, adapting to evolving responsibilities.Education and Experience Required:Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing program.Work Shift:First shift, part-time, approximately 24 hours weekly.
