Environmental Staff Project Manager - Water Treatment
ResponsibilitiesEngineering Consulting Services (ECS) is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Staff Project Manager to join our Water Solutions team. This role performs specific field tasks assigned per project by more senior staff. Your growth in responsibility will come with time and experience. This work will be field based with limited office work as experience is gained. The team delivers turnkey solutions - from permitting and design through startup, optimization, and long-term system maintenance - helping clientscomply withenvironmental regulations and achieve cost-effective, sustainable outcomes.You'll join a collaborative team of environmental engineers and scientists supporting projects across ECS's national footprint.Our systems treat a variety of contaminants of concern and support both temporary construction-phase and permanent remediation applications.ResponsibilitiesInteract and collaborate with staff members on a variety of projectsCollect, compile, and analyze water quality data from groundwater and surface water monitoring eventsInput and manage water quality data in project databases and prepare data summary tables and figuresSupport preparation of water quality monitoring reports and regulatory submittals using field and analytical dataMaintain accurate field records and chain-of-custody documentation for laboratory samplesAttend project meetings with senior staff and assist with resolutions to technical and administrative problemsBegin to learn about marketing and business development with a focus on building your client database and maintaining regular client contactsBegin to learn how to manage project budgets and the need for change orders. Prepare invoices and assist with collection effortsScheduling, training and oversight of subordinate staff membersBasic ability to prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines. Consult with your supervisor to help prioritize tasks on a daily basisDevelop management capabilities of environmental projects including the application of technical support, with supervisory input as neededAssist with preparation of proposals for training and developmental purposesPrepare environmental reports, perform analysis and provide recommendations in collaboration with senior staffInitiate project set up and implementation under the direct supervision of senior staffGood understanding of sample collection, preparation, preservation sample hold times and laboratory submission regulations and guidelinesBasic knowledge of federal, state and local environmental regulations and guidelines and their implications on findings and conclusions in studiesClearly document site observations for field work performed and submit daily reportsCommunicate changing site conditions to supervisor and discuss their implications on field investigations. Implement investigation changes in the field as directed by your supervisorWork with senior staff to develop an understanding of the relation of field observations and sample results to findings and conclusions in the reportAssist on Groundwater and soil investigations and media samplingPerform boring and test pit layouts and evaluate site access with senior oversightAssist with remediation system installation, operation, and maintenanceAssist with underground storage tank assessmentsOther duties as assignedQualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or other degree relevant to the practice of Environmental ConsultingMinimum 3 years of experience in environmental consulting, with hands-on field experience including site assessments, soil and groundwater sampling, and environmental investigationsIf driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is requiredSkills and AbilitiesBasic knowledge of environmental principles and applications.Basic knowledge of permitting processes, environmental regulations, and environmental test methodsInterest in project management, consulting, and business development.Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds a number of times each day and walk on uneven ground through various terrains.Military QualificationsThe following US Military ranks will qualify for this position IF they also meet the education requirements from the above section titled "Required Qualifications":E-5About UsECS Group of Companies (ECS) was founded in 1988 with the goal to raise the standards of professional engineering consulting.
