This role is responsible for ensuring products are robust, repeatable, and production ready across environmental, mechanical, and operational conditions.\nYou will work at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, and quality to translate early-stage designs into field ready systems with predictable performance and lifetime.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nOwn end-to-end reliability validation for photonic and quantum hardware systems\nDevelop and execute qualification plans aligned with product maturity (EVT/DVT/PVT to production)\nBuild reliability test plans tied to product architecture and use cases\nDesign test strategies for environmental, mechanical, and operational stress conditions\nBuild and automate reliability test setups (thermal, vibration, humidity, shock, long-duration testing)\nCreate Environmental and lifecycle test procedures (HALT, HASS, burn-in, accelerated aging)\nDefine acceptance criteria and pass/fail thresholds for system performance under stress\nIdentify failure modes, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions\nPartner with design engineering to improve reliability through design-for-reliability (DfR) principles\nCreate Data pipelines for capturing, analyzing, and trending reliability data\nCollaborate with manufacturing engineering to ensure testability and production scalability\nEstablish reliability metrics (MTBF, failure rates, degradation trends) and track over lifecycle\nGenerate clear, data-driven reports to support design reviews (PDR, CDR, PRR) and leadership decisions\nCreate Qualification documentation aligned with ISO 9001 and production readiness standards\nRequired Skills and Experience\nBachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field\n3+ years of experience in reliability testing, validation, or hardware qualification\nExperience with environmental testing (thermal cycling, vibration, humidity, shock)\nStrong understanding of failure modes and root cause analysis techniques\nExperience working with complex hardware systems (optical, photonic, semiconductor, or precision systems preferred)\nBasic programming skills. Able to code in C, C++, MATLAB/Octave, or Python.\nAble to lift weights to OSHA limit (50 lbs.) when required (occasionally).\nExcellent problem-solving skills, open-minded, and a keen attention to detail.\nAbility to work collaboratively in a supportive, team-oriented environment.\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), utilizing advanced features to streamline data analysis, create professional documents, and develop engaging presentations\nStrong communication skills, both written and verbal.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with photonic systems, optics, or quantum hardware\nFamiliarity with reliability standards (MIL-STD, Telcordia, or similar)\nExperience with accelerated life testing and statistical reliability modeling\nHands-on experience building custom test setups and automation\nKnowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality systems\nExposure to production environments and manufacturing readiness (MRL frameworks)\nQuantum Computing Inc.
