Mechanic (Transit fleet, CDL preferred)

RATP Dev maintains a fleet of buses, which includes 35-ft. Cummins ISL engines, Alison B4000, Ford E450, 25-ft Cutaways, Triton V-10 gasoline engine. Under general supervision, the prospective candidate will strictly follow the maintenance manager’s directives and performs a variety of journey-level diesel mechanic and related mass transit vehicle maintenance/repair works, inspections, maintenance and electrical repairs, ranging from minor to major. The new hire will be placed in “A,” or “B,” classification based on experience and aptitude. “B” mechanics, under supervision and training will have opportunities for advancement to “A” mechanic.The maintenance manager sets the work schedule for this position.Minimum Education And Experience RequirementsApplicants must meet at least one (1) of the following minimum requirements to qualify for the position of Transit Mechanic:Two (2) years journey-level diesel or heavy equipment maintenance/repair experienceTwo (2) years automotive maintenance/repair experienceTwo (2) years heavy duty transit bus repair maintenance/repairSpecial Certifications And LicensesAbility to obtain a Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License with Air Brake and Passenger Transport Endorsement within 90 days of employmentNecessary Requirements: Willingness to follow chain-of-command Availability to work varying shifts/operation as assigned by the manager (days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays).Ability to report to multiple work locations as needed.
