The ideal candidate will have at least one year of legal experience, with family law experience preferred but not required. If you are ready to make a meaningful impact and grow your career in a collaborative and empowering setting, we invite you to join our team.The Role:The Associate Attorney role involves consistently identifying clients' legal needs, offering counsel, clarifying legal options, and adeptly representing them in courtroom settings and negotiations. Our top priorities are making sure clients feel fully supported and receive optimal, cost-effective legal assistance.You will be required to be independent in your work, but work collaboratively as a team player.What We Offer:1440 billable hours a year requirementEligibility for generous quarterly bonuses after 3-6 months of employment (Attorneys are paid 25% of all collected billable work above a specified threshold each quarter)Partially subsidized health insurance through BCBS for employees onlyDental and vision insurance 100% company-paid for employee-onlyLife insurance, long-term disability, and short-term disability 100% company-paid for the employee401(k) match up to 4.5%Ability to work remotely/hybrid for an individual who possesses the experience to work independently11/12 paid holidays a yearUp to 4 weeks of PTO (Based on experience)Engaging CLEs 100% company-paidFlexibility to address your personal needsResponsibilities:Draft petitions, motions, discovery, community property settlements, judgments, and all pleadings associated with family law mattersRepresent clients in court proceedings, including trial, if neededKnowledge of laws related to divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, domestic violence, and community propertyQualifications:What We Need From You:Family Law experience preferredMust be licensed, active, and in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar AssociationThe ability to learn quicklyExperience with Dropbox, MS Office 365, and Clio, or ability to learn quicklyStellar writing skills – a writing sample will be requiredWillingness to be coachedA passion for empowering clients with information to make knowledgeable decisionsCommitment to meet the 1440 hours a year billable hour requirementsAbility to be first chair on 40-50 cases at all timesAbility to attend in person for the Court and effectively litigateAbility to relate to individuals from diverse cultural, educational, ethnic, generational, and socioeconomic backgrounds to build relationshipsAbout Company:Magnolia Law is a proud female-owned law firm established in 2022, dedicated to serving families in East Baton Rouge Parish and the surrounding areas.
