Ensures all machinery is in working order and that all production employees have been formally trained for performing their daily routine duties. Ensure employees are always using the proper PPE. Empower employees by providing the necessary visual aids needed for optimal productivity and potential opportunity. Responsible for the overall efficiency of the production department.\nJob Responsibilities:\nLeads production team by demonstrating company values with utmost respect, dignity, and candor.\nEnsures employees are provided a safe work environment and work safely.\nEmpower team to develop skills and take on more responsibility.\nFollows all pertinent Company policies, procedures, and processes\nPrioritizing production orders\nAssembling production resources to meet production demand.\nEnsure all production employees have the proper training applicable to their job duties.\nClosely monitoring production operations to ensure the safety, quality, and production efficiencies are being met.\nEnsure all workstations, materials, and personnel are in place and prepared for the production run.\nActs promptly to communicate and assist in correcting production problems that may arise and notifies the production manager of any irregularities or delays in production.\nCommunicate with the Purchasing Agent and/or Supply Chain Manager to ensure all materials are provided and ready to meet the production schedule.\nCompletes required forms and production records and returns completed production orders to the production manager for review.\nMaintains required labor reporting by ensuring all direct labor employees are being entered into and out of Insight Works during production runs.\nReviews/corrects Time Off/Vacation requests in PayCom.\nAssures that all necessary documentation for raw materials, labeling, and packaging components are correct, and the physical materials have been checked by the quality department before materials are moved to a workstation.\nEnsures that direct labor resources are in line with workload.\nConducts one-on-one annual performance reviews for direct reports.\nTeams with the maintenance department for any necessary service, such as mechanical, to maintain line operations.\nTeams with quality and direct labor reports to ensure that all coding, components, and machinery is set up for the production run.\nWorks with quality to ensure that all inspections are performed and filed on a regular monthly basis.\nTrains direct labor personnel to conduct weekly hazardous waste storage inspection.\nDocuments and communicates the weekly hazardous waste storage inspections.\nPerforming disciplinary write-ups and incident reports when necessary.\nRegularly reviews and updates SharePoint production schedule.\nPerform daily HUDDLE for production personnel each morning.\nMay assume temporary lead role when Production Manager is absent.\nOther duties as assigned.\nRequired Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:\nStrong Supervisory Skills\nCommunications\nTeam building/Team Empowerment\nTeam Task/Relationship Leadership\nISO Quality Systems\nLean, 5s, Six Sigma, and Good Manufacturing Practices\nDecision making\nStrong computer skills\nStrong math skills\nEquipment operation and adjustment skills\nChemical Handling\nMust be organized and detail-oriented\nGeneral working knowledge of manufacturing and warehouse operations.\nEducation And Experience:\nBachelor's degree or equivalent experience.\nFive years of manufacturing experience.\nTwo years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nDirectly supervises the production team while communicating and working with all departments and managers within the facility to ensure the safety, quality, and production efficiency of the facility.\nLicenses And Certification:\nProcess safety management, per 29 crf 1910.119\nHazardous waste management procedures, per 40 cfr 265.16\nPhysical Demands:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
