Their culture emphasizes ownership, collaboration, and shared success across teams.As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in preparing all levels of estimates and proposals for field and pre-fabrication construction projects. You will collaborate with clients, procurement teams, subcontractors, and vendors to develop accurate cost estimates, analyze historical data, and recommend process improvements. This is an opportunity to contribute to critical infrastructure projects while working in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.What You'll DoConsult with clients, procurement teams, subcontractors, vendors, and stakeholders to develop estimates and resolve issuesInterface with Procurement and Operations to obtain support and commitment to cost estimatesAnalyze historical data and recommend improvements to estimating procedures to reduce discrepancies between estimated and actual costsIdentify cost trends to support management in cost reduction and process improvement effortsAssist in post-project analysis comparing estimated versus actual costs to determine root causes of discrepanciesEnsure compliance with established estimating methodologies and quality standardsReview DOR completion, assignments, estimating quantities, and project scopeReview small and disadvantaged business solicitations and evaluationsReview subcontractor solicitations, quotes, RFP compliance, clarifications, exceptions, and evaluationsIdentify gaps or overlaps in scope of work documentationAssemble material and labor costs for proposals and construction projectsConduct solicitation and pre-qualification efforts for subcontractors and small/disadvantaged businessesAnalyze and incorporate specialty and standard equipment/material pricing into estimatesPrepare and distribute bid packages to subcontractorsPresent estimating information and attend pre-bid meetingsConduct subcontractor labor and market studies and provide recommendationsDevelop project summary schedulesEvaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes; develop and present estimating strategies and plansProvide preliminary pricing for indirect costs and general conditionsEvaluate fee structures, contingency, and escalation; make recommendationsReview plans and specifications for risk and propose mitigation strategiesReview commercial terms and conditions with legal counsel for cost and risk considerationsEnsure accuracy and validity of estimate clarifications and assumptionsAnalyze and price value engineering proposalsPerform additional duties as assignedComply with all company policies and standardsWhat You BringBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field with 3+ years of direct project estimating experience (applicable experience may be substituted in place of a degree)Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteExperience with estimating software such as Quotesoft, Accubid, Oracle, and/or PowerBI preferredKnowledge of estimating techniques, construction disciplines, and cost control systemsStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work independently or collaboratively, think critically, and make sound decisionsWhat's In It For YouComprehensive benefits package supporting physical, emotional, and financial well-beingCollaborative, growth-oriented work environmentOpportunities to contribute to critical infrastructure projectsCulture of ownership, teamwork, and shared success
