This role provides electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation support for manufacturing operations, with primary responsibility for PLC-controlled equipment and related control systems. The PLC Technician works closely with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to minimize downtime, improve equipment performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with safety and quality requirements.\n\nDuties/Responsibilities\n\nTroubleshoot, diagnose, and repair PLC-controlled equipment, electrical systems, and production machinery.\n\nProgram, modify, and maintain PLC software, including ladder logic, structured text, and other control system programming languages as required.\n\nInstall, configure, and support PLC hardware, drives, sensors, communication networks, and related control system components.\n\nPerform preventive and predictive maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.\n\nValidate control system performance through testing, commissioning, and startup activities.\n\nTroubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation-related issues affecting production equipment.\n\nProvide emergency and unscheduled repair support to minimize operational disruptions.\n\nAnalyze equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.\n\nRead and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and equipment documentation.\n\nCollaborate with Engineering, Production, and Maintenance teams on equipment upgrades, automation projects, and process improvements.\n\nMaintain accurate maintenance records, technical documentation, and work order information within the CMMS system.\n\nEnsure compliance with OSHA requirements, safety procedures, GMPs, and company policies.\n\nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.\n\nPerform other related duties as assigned.\n\nEducation and Experience\n\nHigh School Diploma or GED required.\n\nMinimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment or equivalent military experience.\n\nMaintenance certifications, licenses, or technical training preferred.\n\nExperience with PLC programming, industrial automation, and manufacturing control systems.\n\nExperience with CMMS systems preferred.\n\nPreferred Experience\n\nExperience with multi-layer extrusion equipment, particularly Windmöller & Hölscher (W&H) systems.\n\nExperience with flexographic printing presses, particularly W&H equipment.\n\nExperience with slitting equipment, including Kampf and Deacro systems.\n\nExperience with LEMO wicketing equipment.\n\nExperience with Totani pouch-making equipment.\n\nRequired Skills/Abilities\n\nStrong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, circuits, controls, and safety practices.\n\nProficiency in PLC programming, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and hardware support.\n\nStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.\n\nAbility to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions.\n\nAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.\n\nEffective verbal and written communication skills.\n\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.\n\nFamiliarity with PLC software, industrial automation systems, robotics, vision systems, and related technologies preferred.\n\nForklift operating ability or willingness to obtain certification.\n\nPhysical Requirements\n\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the workday.\n\nAbility to lift, push, or move up to 100 pounds.\n\nAbility to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying
