We support you in supporting othersHow You Make An ImpactReview daily schedule and assignments with the Warehouse Lead or direct supervisorLoad delivery trucks with furniture from the staging areaAssist with local deliveries, including lifting and placing furniture in homes or facilities (may involve stairs or elevator access)Unload trucks returning from deliveries and donation pickupsClean furniture thoroughly and perform furniture repair and refurbishment as neededAssemble purchased furniture as requiredSupport on-site volunteer activities, including setting up tables and assisting during volunteer projectsMaintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and delivery truck dailyFollow safety procedures and proper lifting techniquesPerform other duties as assignedHow You Meet QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDWarehouse experience with moving furniture and including the types of equipment they used (forklifts, pallet jacks, inventory systems) preferredAbility to safely lift and carry up to 75 lbs.Experience driving a box truckValid and clean drivers license.Previous box truck experience preferredStrong attention to detailPositive, can-do attitudePunctual, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a teamCOMPETENCIES: Excellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to take and follow detailed directionsAbility to complete basic paperwork and reportsAbility to build supportive and respectful working relationships that instill hope, with sensitivity to the needs of individuals experiencing homelessnessProven ability to work independently, as an effective team member, and collaborativelyAbility to work flexible hours, including some weekends and eveningsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Communicate effectively with others and visually read a variety of materialsManual dexterity for use of keyboard, tools, controls; repetitive motion that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingersAbility to drive and sit in a car for prolonged periods Ability to move between floors, including ascending and descending stairsAbility to squat, bend at the waist, crouch, reach overhead and horizontally, and kneelNotice: This description is to be used as a guide only.
