NOTICE OF VACANCYTantasqua Regional Jr. High SchoolCoordinator of Academics and Accountability(Unit B Position / 209 Days)Reports to: Building PrincipalResponsibilities:Supports the principal as the school's educational leader, assisting in administering all facets of the instructional program, including co-curricular activities. Collaborates with the principal in establishing expectations for student's learning performance, conduct, and attendance.Essential Functions, done in collaboration with and guidance from the principal:Implements federal and state laws, administrative regulations and school committee policies as they apply to the local school.Establish disciplinary letters and ensure consistency and compliance with parent notification.Oversee academic reports and ensure accountability, communication to parents and /or guardians.Oversee the credit recovery programUpdate and maintain the program of studiesCommunicate the weekly schedule to staff, students, and parentsSupervise handbook updates and ensure it is current with laws and regulationsUpdate staff policies in the Faculty Reference ManualUpdate the staff duty schedule each yearOversee the development, implementation, and compliance of Section 504 plansCollaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to identify students who may be struggling academically or socially and implement appropriate interventions.Supervises and evaluates certified and non-certified personnel, as assigned by the principalCollaborates with the principal in the effective development and management of the budget and school activity funds.Effectively manages an efficient office and record-keeping systemEncourages and facilitates faculty and staff professional growthFosters positive student, parent, and staff relationshipsEncourages positive public relations within and outside the schoolAssists in hiring and recommending highly qualified staff membersOversee the development, implementation, and compliance of Section 504 plansExercises leadership necessary to make the school facility a safe, attractive, and productive place in which to learn and work.Develops a fair and consistent system for student disciplineAttends school committee meetings as requiredMaintains currency in education practices and invests in one's own professional developmentScheduling-Oversees the development and maintenance of the school's master schedule, leads the schedule-building team, and ensures optimal resource utilization and alignment with instructional priorities.Attend PowerSchool trainings in order to maximize the school's ability to optimize standardized testing analysis, communication vehicles, and scheduling module updatesManage and supervise standardized testing administration, including state assessments, college entrance exams, AP testing, and other standardized tests.In conjunction with the principal, analyze assessment data, including standardized test scores and academic progress reports, to track student achievement and guide improvement efforts.Adheres to the standards of the school's accrediting agenciesAddresses other duties as may be assigned by the PrincipalUnder the guidance of the school principal, exhibit the ability to:Manage the proper and efficient use and conservation of all assets and resources assigned to the schoolMaintain open lines of communication with the superintendent and pertinent central office administrators regarding school-based issuesDemonstrate effective command of written and oral languageUtilize a collaborative leadership styleKnowledge of:District policies, rules and regulations and applicable to the school district and the school siteState and federal laws relating to contract management, methods and procedures of supervision and evaluationCurrent education theories and practicesQualifications:* Evidence of ability to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
