The Human Services Accounts Payable Clerkis the lead/specialist level classification in the Accounting Clerk series. The Human Services Accounts Payable Clerk performs complex and specialized clerical accounting duties requiring a thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and public agency accounting procedures. Requires a high degree of independent judgment. This is a full-time, benefited position that will work Monday - Friday from 8:00 to 4:00 with flexibility. This position will work out of 515 Coffman St. Longmont, CO 80503 and remotely. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt. Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work. Examples of DutiesEnters data into the county's computerized accounting system and utilizes computer accounting reports to balance accountsMaintains accounting summaries, statements of accounts, and may issue accounting reportsPrepares and reviews vendor invoices for payments, cash deposits, requisitions for purchase orders, A/R invoices and other clerical accounting transactionsPrepares various financial reports and projections of fundsProcesses and verifies payroll records and informationBalances daily cash transactions and audit recapsPrepares deposits and may reconcile bank statementsWorks with information technology services to correct and improve computer information and reportsProvides assistance to other employees regarding accounting issues, policies, and proceduresImplements and maintains efficient filing systemsResearches clerical accounting problems and recommends solutions to correct problemsGathers and computes data for departmental budgetMay supervise, counsel, and evaluate the work of other employees and recommends personnel actions in the areas of hiring, discipline and terminationDirects, trains, organizes, reviews, and monitors the workflow of the office worker staff to ensure effectiveness and efficiencyPerforms related work, as requiredMay be reassigned during emergency situations Required Qualifications PLEASE NOTE: When completing your application describe all relevant education and experience, as applications are assessed based on the required qualifications listed.
