This role will involve both office-based design and on-site inspection duties.\n\nKey responsibilities\n\nConduct structural analysis, including calculating loads, pressures, and stresses on foundations, beams, columns, and walls.\nPrepare detailed structural designs, drawings, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD and Revit.\nSelect appropriate construction materials, such as steel, concrete, wood, and masonry, based on project specifications and structural requirements.\nCollaborate with architects, designers and other engineering disciplines to develop integrated and buildable designs.\nProvide technical guidance during all phases of construction, from conception to completion.\nReview shop drawings and provide feedback to colleagues.\nOversee and inspect the work of contractors and sub-contractors on-site to ensure adherence to design specifications.\nEnsure all designs and construction practices comply with local, state, and federal building codes, regulations, and safety standards.\nAdvise on repair options, demolition plans, and modifications for existing structures.\nManage project budgets and timelines related to the structural scope of work.\nInvestigate and diagnose structural issues or failures, and provide solutions for repairs or modifications.\nInspecting buildings to assess their structural integrity\n\nQualifications and skills Required\n\nBachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering\n5 years of proven experience as a Structural Engineer, preferably within a construction or engineering firm.
